Zusammenfassung

Südzucker Group seeks an experienced AI Architect to lead design, implementation and scaling of group-wide AI solutions. You will own end-to-end Python-based AI systems, including LLMs, data, tools, and enterprise integration, with a focus on production readiness.

The role demands strong software engineering, DevOps, and architecture expertise, plus fluency in German and English. You will collaborate with partners and set technical standards across the group.

Qualifikationen

• University degree in CS/AI or related technical field.
• Typically five or more years delivering complex software, data or AI solutions.
• Proven experience deploying AI-based applications in production, with a focus on LLMs.
• Strong hands-on Python development and DevOps capabilities.
• Cloud and solution architecture exposure; Azure experience is a plus.
• Fluent German and English with ability to communicate complex decisions.

Your Tasks

• Design and implement first-of-a-kind AI solutions hands-on in Python, from initial validation through production deployment.
• Build end-to-end LLM-based and agentic AI systems spanning models, data, RAG, tools, APIs and enterprise integration.
• Establish engineering practices for evaluation, CI/CD, observability, monitoring and reliable production operations.
• Lead technical delivery with external partners, including implementation guidance, quality assurance and acceptance.
• Act as the Group-wide architectural authority for AI solutions across the Südzucker Group.
• Define, review and approve target architectures, technical standards and reference patterns.
• Convert successful implementations into reusable components and architectures for Group-wide scaling.
• Translate business requirements into technically feasible solutions with measurable outcomes.
• Collaborate with the Corporate AI Transformation Program to align for group-wide value and adoption.

Your Profile

• A university degree in computer science, data science, artificial intelligence, another discipline in science, technology, engineering or mathematics
• Typically five or more years of experience delivering complex software, data or AI solutions.
• Proven experience implementing and operating AI-based applications in production, focus on LLMs.
• Strong hands-on development skills in Python
• Strong software engineering and DevOps skills, including testing, CI/CD, observability and production operations.
• Solid knowledge of machine learning and data science.
• Experience in cloud and solution architecture; knowledge of Microsoft Azure is an advantage.
• Sound knowledge of modern AI application patterns, including RAG, agentic workflows, tool use, evaluation and guardrails.
• Familiarity with frameworks and orchestration platforms such as LangChain/Graph, OpenAI Agents SDK, n8n or similar.
• Experience integrating AI tools and enterprise systems through APIs and the Model Context Protocol (MCP)
• Ability to translate business objectives into technical architectures and communicate complex decisions clearly.
• Experience guiding external technology and implementation partners.
• Professional proficiency in German and English.
