Intellectual Capital Resources Ltd. is seeking a Semiconductor Nanofabrication Engineer to help develop next‑gen implantable brain‑computer interfaces (BCIs) that aim to restore movement, vision, and communication for people with disabilities.

The role focuses on designing and manufacturing multi‑channel implantable micro‑electrode arrays, advancing microfabrication processes, and scaling production from prototypes to mass manufacture.

Qualifications

• Experience in microfabrication and cleanroom environments.
• Knowledge of MEMS devices and MEMS fabrication processes.
• Understanding materials and fabrication effects on signal quality, durability and biocompatibility.
• Degree or PhD in neuroengineering, microsystems technology, electrical/biomedical engineering or related field.
• Entrepreneurial, hands-on mindset for moving technology from prototype to scalable production.

Responsibilities

• Design and manufacture multi-channel implantable micro-electrode arrays, including layouts and fabrication.
• Develop and optimise microfabrication processes such as sputtering, photolithography, etching and thin-film processing.
• Characterise electrodes using impedance spectroscopy and long-term stability tests.
• Analyse results and translate findings into design and process improvements.
• Scale manufacturing from early prototypes to production-ready processes.

Fantastic new opportunity for a Semiconductor Nanofabrication Engineer to join an exciting company to help to develop the next generation of implantable brain-computer interfaces (BCIs), with the goal of restoring movement, vision and communication for people with disabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Design and manufacture multi-channel implantable micro-electrode arrays, including layouts, geometries and fabrication processes
• Develop and optimise microfabrication processes such as sputtering, photolithography, etching and thin-film processing
• Characterise electrodes using techniques such as impedance spectroscopy and long-term stability testing
• Analyse results and translate findings into design and process improvements
• Scale manufacturing from early prototypes to reproducible, production-ready processes

What we're looking for

• Strong experience in microfabrication and cleanroom environments, ideally including thin films, photolithography, sputtering, RIE and/or wet chemistry
• Knowledge of MEMS devices and the MEMS fabrication process
• Understanding of how materials and fabrication affect signal quality, durability and biocompatibility
• Degree or PhD in neuroengineering, microsystems technology, electrical engineering, physics, biomedical engineering or a related field
• An entrepreneurial, hands-on mindset with an interest in taking technology from prototype to scalable production
