Job summary

Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf (HZDR) invites applications for a Scientific Employee – Group leader High Performance Computing (f/m/d). The role leads the HPC group, operates and develops HPC services, and supports users in HPC codes and applications.

The candidate should hold a Master/Diploma/PhD in a relevant field, have several years of HPC experience, expertise in Linux HPC, MPI and CUDA, and be fluent in German and English.

Qualifications

• Completed university studies (Master/Diploma/PhD) in CS/Math/Engineering or related field.
• Several years of professional experience in HPC.
• In-depth knowledge of Linux server administration, HPC, and parallel storage systems.
• Knowledge of MPI and CUDA programming.
• Experience installing, optimizing and benchmarking scientific applications on HPC systems.

The Department of IT Infrastructure is looking for a Scientific Employee – Group leader High Performance Computing (f/m/d).

Your tasks

• Technical leadership of the “High Performance Computing” group
• Operation and further development of services in the HPC environment
• Support for internal and external users regarding HPC codes and applications
• Collaboration with national and international project partners

Your profile

• Completed university studies (Master/Diploma/PhD) in the field of Computer Science, Mathematics, Natural Science or Engineering or related field
• Several years’ professional experience in the specified area
• Experience in the field of high-performance computing
• In-depth knowledge of Linux server administration, HPC, and parallel storage systems
• Knowledge of using and programming parallel algorithms using MPI and CUDA
• Knowledge of installing, optimizing, and benchmarking scientific applications on HPC systems
• Fluent in spoken and written German and English
