SAP Process Engineer

in Bonn

The position is to be filled as soon as possible, with a contract duration of two years. At the end of the initial two‑year contractual period, there are good prospects for conversion of the contract from a fixed‑term to an open‑ended employment contract. The position can also be filled with an unlimited contract duration if the employee shows an appropriate period of employment. Employment location will be Bonn, Germany.

Digital transformation is reshaping how we operate and deliver on our mission. To ensure Welthungerhilfe remains agile and effective in the digital era, we are moving from our current SAP ECC system to SAP S/4HANA, a transformation that will redefine our core business processes across Finance, Logistics, and beyond. As SAP Process Engineer in our Business Solutions team within the Digital Services & Operations Unit, you will take on a central role in this transformation. You will help design and harmonize end‑to‑end processes, ensuring that our move to S/4HANA is both efficient and future‑oriented. In this role, you can truly make an impact, by driving digital excellence and enabling Welthungerhilfe to work smarter and more effectively in the fight against global hunger.

Your responsibilities

• You model our business processes, particularly in Finance, Procurement, Sales, and Project Management, and create solution designs for implementation in S/4 HANA, significantly contributing to our SAP S/4 HANA transformation project
• You act as counterpart to our external implementation partner as well as internal stakeholders, ensuring alignment with organizational needs and SAP standards
• You organize and facilitate workshops to gather requirements, analyze processes, and develop technical solution approaches
• You support testing activities, and contribute to data migration and authorization concepts
• You ensure clear documentation of process decisions and configurations throughout the transformation project
• After go‑live of our new S/4 HANA solutions, you serve as process steward for cross‑functional SAP workflows and ensure ongoing process optimization
• You support key users in resolving process‑related issues and adopting new S/4HANA features
• You maintain process documentation, coordinate system improvements, and ensure compliance with policies and donor requirements
• You liaise with business units and external partners to ensure stable and efficient SAP operations

Your profile

• You have a degree in Business Informatics, Business Administration, or a comparable qualification
• You have a minimum of 3 years of professional business process management, SAP consulting, or a similar role and have ideally already been involved in a migration from SAP ECC to SAP S/4 HANA
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA (Public or Private Cloud) is a strong advantage
• You have the ability to translate business needs into system requirements and to communicate effectively with both business and technical stakeholders
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with attention to process consistency and data quality
• Familiarity with IT governance, change management, and user rights administration in SAP is an asset
• Proactive, structured, and collaborative working style
• You enjoy working with diverse teams and people, and you remain calm and focused in the face of resistance during change processes
• Fluency in English (spoken and written); German is an asset
