Job summary

NAXCON GmbH, headquartered in Weil am Rhein with offices including Stuttgart, seeks a SAP Material Release/Obsolescence Management Specialist (m/f/d) for full-time work in Germany. You will verify, enter, and manage data in SAP-PLM, interpret English and German datasheets, and coordinate obsolescence strategies across products and projects.

Travel worldwide is possible. The role requires a degree in engineering, extensive SAP PLM experience, and fluent English and German.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering with a major in mechanical or electrical engineering and relevant experience.
• Excellent knowledge of SAP PLM and MS Office.
• Fluent in English and German, able to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Verify, approve, and modify data for mechanical, electrical, electronic, and third-party parts in SAP-PLM material master data management.
• Interpret data sheets in English and German with research and plausibility checks.
• Enter and maintain international manufacturer addresses, including NATO CAGE codes.
• Store and archive manufacturer data sheets electronically in IXOS.
• Support SAP-PLM design data management and IXOS distribution (SAPCAD integration).
• Resolve errors in automated IXOS processes.
• Assist with system specifications, testing, and acceptance in SAP-based design data management.
• Implement core obsolescence management components in SAP-PLM with coordination with project/product obsolescence managers.
• Perform obsolescence checks on components and provide information in MAT portal.

Position: SAP Material Release/Obsolescence Management Specialist (m/f/d)

Type: Full‑time

Tasks:

• Conducting basic data verification, approval, and modification for mechanical, electrical, electronic, and intangible third‑party parts in the SAP‑PLM material master data management system
• Interpreting data sheets—primarily in English and German—through independent research and plausibility checks
• Entering and maintaining international manufacturer addresses, including assignment of NATO CAGE codes
• Electronic entry, storage, and long‑term archiving of manufacturer data sheets in IXOS
• Collaborating (as a substitute) on the electronic management, storage, archiving, and distribution of design documentation in SAP‑PLM (including SAPCAD integration) and IXOS
• Resolution of errors in automated processes (IXOS)
• Participation in system specifications, testing, and acceptance procedures within the scope of design data management using SAP (knowledge of Rational databases and hardware and software development is a plus)
• Implementation of the core components of obsolescence management in SAP‑PLM, taking into account obsolescence management in coordination with the project or product obsolescence manager
• Conducting obsolescence checks on defined components within existing product structures and providing obsolescence information in the MAT portal

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (university of applied sciences/technical university) with a major in mechanical engineering or electrical engineering
• Extensive professional experience in the field
• Very good knowledge of the MS Office suite
• Extensive, very good knowledge of SAP PLM (product data management)
• Good knowledge of hardware and software development
• Fluent in spoken and written English and German
• Ability to work in a team
• Organizational skills, coordination skills, assertiveness, and the ability to work under pressure
• Helpful Prior Experience
• Willingness to travel worldwide
