Design Build Search is seeking an Onsite Safety Manager to lead health and safety for a large Data Centre construction project in Berlin. You will oversee site safety programs, audits, training, and incident investigations to protect workers and ensure compliance with EHS legislation.

Reporting to the Senior Regional Safety Manager, you will mentor site teams, drive a positive safety culture, and coordinate with clients, subcontractors and third parties.

Qualifikationen

• Experience in a similar role is essential.
• Experience in commercial construction for a principal contractor is essential.
• PSCS experience.
• Proficiency in using Microsoft Office required.
• Excellent organisational and planning skills.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
• Must have European passport.

Aufgaben

• Conduct site audits and inspections per Safety Management system/PSCS.
• Attend Safety Leadership Tours.
• Coach and mentor staff to promote safety culture.
• Communicate audit findings to site management and project director and assist closure of issues.
• Assess EHS function to identify areas for improvement and develop initiatives.
• Investigate incidents and identify root causes.
• Provide training to workforce using appropriate training aids and media.
• Maintain ISO 45001/14001 and Safe T Cert systems.
• Represent the company with client, subcontractors and third parties.
• Ensure adherence to EHS legislation as principal contractor.

Onsite Safety Manager - Berlin - Data Centre Construction

A leading technical general contractor spanning a geographical remit across Ireland, the UK, Europe and the USA. Specialising in large scale commercial construction projects with a focus on the pharmaceutical and logistics industries there is a solid pipeline of work ahead. Due to an increase in project workload there is an opportunity for an experienced Safety Manager to lead a large Data Centre construction project. As Safety manager you will oversee and manage health and safety protocols for large-scale construction work. The successful candidate will report to the Senior Regional Safety Manager.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Conduct regular formal site audits and carry out inspections as directed in the Safety Management system/PSCS.
• Attend Safety Leadership Tours.
• Coaching and mentoring staff in creating a positive safety culture.
• Communicate the findings of the audits to site management and project director and assist in the closure of issues in line with company policy.
• Assessing the EHS function to identify areas for improvement and develop new initiatives.
• Investigating and analyzing incidents and identifying root causes.
• To provide training and information to the workforce using appropriate training aids and media, communicating, and promoting initiatives for accident prevention and greater EHS awareness.
• Thorough knowledge of relevant environmental health & safety legislation.
• Ability to manage, mentor and promote Safety onsite.
• Maintaining management systems in accordance with ISO 45001/14001 and Safe T Cert.
• Represent the company impeccably with client, subcontractors and third parties.
• As principal contractor on the job ensure adherance by all stakeholders to EHS legislation
