ASafe Global is seeking an experienced EHS Lead to support a high-profile data centre construction project in Berlin, Germany. You will implement environmental, health and safety programmes across site operations and work with the EHS Manager and project leadership to ensure regulatory and client compliance.

This on-site role requires clear communication with contractors and stakeholders to promote a proactive safety culture.

Qualifikationen

• 5+ years of experience in an EHS role within construction.
• Previous GC project experience is preferred.
• Degree or diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Strong knowledge of German and EU health, safety, and environmental legislation applicable to construction projects.
• Relevant EHS certifications such as NEBOSH, SIGEKO, or equivalent qualifications.
• Experience conducting site inspections, audits, incident investigations, and delivering EHS training.
• Strong communication, organisational, and stakeholder management skills.
• Fluent in German and English.

• Conduct regular site inspections, safety audits, and risk assessments, ensuring compliance with company policies, client requirements, and local legislation.
• Monitor contractor activities and provide guidance to ensure safe systems of work are followed at all times.
• Assist with incident reporting, investigations, root cause analysis, and the implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
• Deliver site inductions, toolbox talks, and ongoing safety training to project personnel.
• Maintain accurate EHS documentation, records, permits, and compliance reports.
• Work closely with the EHS Manager, construction teams, and subcontractors to proactively identify and mitigate workplace risks.
• Promote a positive safety culture by engaging with site personnel and encouraging active participation in EHS initiatives.

Working closely with the EHS Manager and project leadership team, you will play a key role in implementing environmental, health, and safety programmes across site operations. This position requires a strong on-site presence, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with contractors and project stakeholders to promote a culture of safety and ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and client requirements.

Key Qualifications

• Previous experience working on large-scale construction projects, preferably with a General Contractor (GC).
• Degree or diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Strong knowledge of German and EU health, safety, and environmental legislation applicable to construction projects.
• Relevant EHS certifications such as NEBOSH, SIGEKO, or equivalent qualifications.
• Experience conducting site inspections, audits, incident investigations, and delivering EHS training.
• Strong communication, organisational, and stakeholder management skills.
• Fluent in German and English.
