Zusammenfassung

Mercury in Frankfurt seeks a Quality Engineer to support the Quality Manager, ensure compliance with ITPs, specifications and standards on site, and drive continuous improvement across multiple construction projects. You will plan inspections, coordinate training, review vendor documentation, lead non-conformance resolution, and produce KPI reports to strengthen project performance.

The role requires 5+ years in construction/engineering quality, a degree in engineering, and ISO 9001 auditing

Qualifikationen

  • 5+ years quality experience in construction/engineering or manufacturing.
  • Engineering degree or diploma in engineering (CSA, Electrical or Mechanical).
  • ISO 9001:2015 Lead or Internal Auditor.
  • Presenting and training skills.
  • High ability to read and interpret QMS documents (Plans, Procedures, SOPs).
  • Excellent communication and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proactive and energetic approach to quality issues.

Aufgaben

  • Assist the Quality Manager in achieving contract quality objectives by coordinating activities and providing feedback on quality performance.
  • Promote the quality vision and continuous improvement across project teams.
  • Conduct site inspections to verify work aligns with ITPs, specs and quality standards.
  • Plan and deliver quality training and induction sessions for Mercury personnel and partners.
  • Support creation and submission of quality deliverables, plans, reports and records.
  • Review vendor/contractor deliverables (test plans, procedures, certifications) for compliance.
  • Analyse subcontractor documentation to ensure standards are met and follow up for corrections.
  • Examine ITPs for clarity and alignment with codes and project specs.
  • Support implementation of project-specific quality procedures and standardized processes.
  • Oversee quality documentation from contractors for relevance and accuracy.
  • Schedule internal and supply chain audits to evaluate compliance and identify risks.
  • Identify non-conformances and drive resolution with root-cause analysis.
  • Scrutinize work packs and handovers to ensure alignment with quality requirements.
  • Compile weekly/monthly quality performance reports and KPI trends.

Key Responsibilities Of The Role
  • Assist the Quality Manager in achieving contract quality objectives by coordinating activities, monitoring compliance, and providing proactive feedback on quality performance.
  • Promote the company’s quality vision and strategic goals by encouraging best practices across project teams and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Conduct routine and ad hoc site inspections to verify that construction, fabrication, or installation activities are executed in accordance with approved ITPs, specifications, and quality standards
  • Plan, coordinate, and deliver quality-related training and induction sessions for all Mercury personnel and supply chain partners, ensuring consistent understanding of project standards, procedures, and compliance expectations across the workforce.
  • Support the creation and submission of contractual and internal quality deliverables, including plans, reports, and records, ensuring they are timely, complete, and aligned with project specifications.
  • Review and monitor the technical deliverables submitted by vendors and contractors—such as test plans, procedures, and certifications to confirm they meet contractual and regulatory expectations.
  • Analyse all documentation provided by subcontractors and vendors to ensure it complies with relevant standards and project requirements, identifying issues and following up for corrections.
  • Examine Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) for clarity, technical completeness, proper sequencing, and alignment with codes and project specifications.
  • Support the implementation of project-specific quality procedures by guiding project teams and ensuring proper adoption of standardized processes.
  • Oversee quality-related documentation from contractors, confirming its relevance, accuracy, and adherence to the agreed-upon quality specifications and formats.
  • Schedule and perform internal and supply chain audits at critical project stages to evaluate compliance, uncover risks, and provide actionable recommendations for improvement.
  • Identify and raise non-conformances when work or deliverables fall short of specification; lead the resolution process with clear documentation and root cause analysis.
  • Scrutinize project deliverables such as work packs, test packs, and documentation handovers to verify they fully reflect quality requirements prior to acceptance or release.
  • Compile detailed weekly and monthly reports capturing quality performance, non-conformance trends, and corrective actions; manage KPI metrics to evaluate overall effectiveness
Essential Criteria For The Role
  • 5+ years Quality experience in construction/engineering/petrochemical and / or within a multinational manufacturing.
  • Minimum Diploma or Degree in Engineering, equivalent to BSc, in engineering (CSA, Electrical or Mechanical).
  • ISO 9001:2015 Lead or Internal Auditor.
  • Presenting and Training skillset.
  • High ability to read and interpret QMS documents such Plans, Procedures (SOPs), Inspection and Test Plans.
  • Effective communication and collaboration abilities across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Confident, creative, and energetic approach to addressing all quality-related issues
