Job summary

Energy Jobline ZR is seeking a highly organized Purchasing Specialist to join our manufacturing team. This role manages the procurement of raw materials, production components, packaging, and indirect supplies while ensuring inventory levels support production schedules and customer demand.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with ERP or MRP systems (Sage 100 experience is a plus).
• Knowledge of purchasing, inventory control, and logistics processes.
• Experience coordinating domestic and international shipments.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Source and purchase raw materials, production components, packaging materials, and indirect supplies.
• Create, issue, and manage purchase orders through an ERP system.
• Monitor supplier performance and ensure on-time deliveries.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and negotiate pricing when appropriate.
• Coordinate domestic and international shipments with carriers, freight forwarders, and customs brokers.
• Track shipments and proactively resolve delivery issues.
• Maintain accurate purchasing, inventory, and vendor records.
• Monitor inventory levels and communicate potential shortages before they impact production.
• Verify receiving documentation, invoices, and packing slips.
• Support inventory accuracy and assist with cycle count investigations.
• Coordinate with internal departments to ensure materials are available to meet production schedules.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvements throughout the supply chain.
