Your role

Own a Procurement Category in Powertrain end‑to‑end, including leadership and development of the procurement strategy, ensuring the right parts are in the right place at the right time, achieving the best possible commercial terms and conditions in line with the business group strategy, and owning the supplier relationship for the suppliers related to those categories.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate all procurement activities related to the selected category Powertrain.
• Identify and source the components and systems with the best technical and commercial fit to the vehicle and operations requirements.
• Prepare, coordinate and execute sourcing decisions for selected commodities and full category, with cross‑functional alignment between engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain and procurement.
• Negotiate with suppliers to secure best balanced commercial terms considering technical feasibility, volume demands, quality and manufacturing requirements.
• Fulfil all relevant project targets regarding material and tooling cost as well as timeline.
• Constantly observe the global supply market regarding changes that affect our business.
• Develop and align in a cross‑functional manner category strategies considering global supply market developments as well as internal requirements.
• Identify, evaluate and countermeasure risks associated with the supply chain of the selected category.
• Manage and coordinate raw material fluctuations with the suppliers and commodities across the whole category.
• Establish and secure reliable supply chains during serial production.
• Support the Procurement Manager in developing and delivering the transition strategy for procurement from project to operation.
• Help drive and deliver all procurement activities of the project phase, e.g. through close cooperation with the cost engineers.
• Work closely with Engineering, Commercial and Industrialisation to agree future demand plans, materials and equipment.
• Network with the wider INEOS organization to maximise group leverage possibilities.

Requirements

• Ideally 8‑10 years of experience gained at a Tier 1/2 automotive supplier or automotive OEM.
• Previous direct knowledge of automotive procurement from concept through industrialisation to operation, with a focus on Powertrain.
• Significant automotive supply‑chain / procurement know‑how gained over a long career in automobile manufacturing.
• Excellent project management skills, with a track record of delivery.
• Experience building and maintaining senior supplier relationships.
• Demonstrable strategic procurement experience and or NPI (New Product Introduction).
• Ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively and analytically.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Significant travel involved in the role.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office software.
• Experience with SAP is desirable; training will be available.
• English language mandatory; German language beneficial.
