Zusammenfassung

INEOS Automotive in Böblingen, Germany, seeks an experienced Supplier Quality Engineering Manager to lead the global supplier quality program from selection through serial production. You will ensure readiness of suppliers, drive quality improvements, and safeguard parts quality during relocations and changes.

You will manage the SQE team, execute APQP/PPAP, perform site supplier audits, and apply 8D, FMEA, and Lean methods to reduce non-quality costs.

Qualifikationen

  • Extensive direct experience in Supplier Quality and/or Manufacturing Engineering in automotive OEM or Tier-1 supplier.
  • Strong knowledge of GD&T and ability to interpret complex drawings for manufacturability and inspection.
  • Proven skills as quality auditor (IATF or VDA).
  • In-depth APQP/PPAP knowledge and application.
  • Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen and continuous improvement expertise.
  • Ability to lead a team and manage cross-functional change projects.
  • Fluent in English; German and/or French is advantageous.
  • Willingness to travel extensively to suppliers and manufacturing sites.

Your role:

The SQE Manager is accountable for the supplier maturity from supplier selection process to serial production covering tools, production processes and equipment as well as parts.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Ensure serial production readiness of the suppliers in scope globally prior to vehicle launch, during serial production as well as spare parts production.
  • Lead, manage and develop the relevant Supplier Quality Engineering team.
  • Initiate and monitor Advanced Product Quality Planning projects at the suppliers (APQP).
  • Secure execution of site supplier performance audits.
  • Initiative and monitor supplier development projects to maintain and improve product and process quality.
  • Provide supplier evaluation prior nomination and during the whole product lifecycle, assign a specific quality status to the suppliers.
  • Secure component quality in case of supplier serial production relocations, technical changes and supplier re-sourcing.
  • Initiate risk assessments, FMEA reviews and on-site process analysis.
  • Identify and implement cost down measures through process and product analysis to support continuous EBIT optimization of INEOS.
  • Set up and run an efficient business model for claims management covering 8D reports, measure definition and monitoring as well as claim closure.
  • Support Supply Chain Management in securing availability of parts in the expected quality.
  • Network with the wider INEOS organisation to maximise group leverage possibilities and know how transfer.

Requirements

  • Extensive direct experience in Supplier Quality and/or Manufacturing Engineering gained at either an automotive OEM or a Tier 1 automotive supplier.
  • Technical know how about automotive components and their production methods.
  • Proven skills and experience as quality auditor (IATF or VDA).
  • In-depth understanding of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP).
  • Strong knowledge and practical application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), with the ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and assess manufacturability and inspection requirements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the application of structured methodologies such as 8D, Root Cause Analysis, FMEA, and statistical problem-solving techniques.
  • Strong knowledge and practical application of Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Proven ability to drive cost for non-quality.
  • Proven track record of leading a team and be able to build effective working relationships internally and externally.
  • Able to demonstrate direct knowledge of automotive supplier quality management from concept-through-industrialisation-to-operation.
  • Experience in development and implementation of process models in alignment with internal stakeholders.
  • Experience in leading cross functional change management projects.
  • Excellent project management skills, with a track record of delivery.
  • Demonstrable ability to prioritize tasks and have effective time management and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken). German and/or French are advantageous.
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively, including regular visits to suppliers and manufacturing sites.
