INEOS Automotive is seeking an experienced Procurement Category Lead for Electrics & Electronics in Böblingen, Germany. You will own end-to-end category strategy, drive supplier relationships and work cross-functionally to secure the best terms for the program.

The role requires 8–10 years in automotive procurement, strong project management and SAP/MS Office proficiency, with English mandatory and travel involvement. Remote work opportunities may be available.

Your role

To own a Procurement Category in Electrics & Electronics end-to-end, including leadership and development of the procurement strategy, using your experience to finally ensure the right parts are in the right place at the right time, allowing purchasing to achieve the best possible commercial terms and conditions in line with the business group strategy, and to own the supplier relationship for the suppliers related to those categories.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to)

• Coordinate all procurement activities related to the selected category Electrics & Electronics.
• Identify and source the components and systems with the best technical and commercial fit to the vehicle and operations requirements.
• Prepare, co-ordinate and execute sourcing decisions for selected commodities and full category - all sourcing decisions are cross functional aligned between engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain and procurement.
• Negotiate with suppliers to secure best balanced commercial terms considering technical feasibility, volume demands, quality and manufacturing requirements.
• Fulfil all relevant project targets regarding material and tooling cost as well as timeline.
• Constant observation of the global supply market regarding changes that affects our business.
• Develop and align in a cross-functional manner category strategies considering global supply market developments as well as internal requirements.
• Identify, evaluate and countermeasure risks associated with the supply chain of the selected category.
• Manage and co-ordinate raw material fluctuations with the suppliers and commodities across the whole category.
• Establish and secure reliable supply chains during serial production.
• Support the Procurement Manager in developing and delivering the transition strategy for procurement from project to operation.
• Help drive and deliver all procurement activities of the project phase e.g. through close cooperation with the cost engineers.
• Work closely with the Engineering, Commercial and Industrialisation to agree future demand plans, materials and equipment.
• Network with the wider INEOS organisation to maximise group leverage possibilities.

Requirements

• Ideally 8-10 years’ experience gained at either a Tier 1/2 automotive supplier or automotive OEM.
• Previous direct knowledge of automotive procurement from concept-through-industrialisation-to-operation, with focus on Electrics & Electronics.
• Significant automotive supply chain / procurement know-how gained over a long career in automobile manufacturing.
• Excellent project management skills, with a track record of delivery.
• Able to demonstrate experiences in building and maintaining senior supplier relationships.
• Demonstrable strategic procurement experience and or NPI (New Product Introduction).
• Ability to prioritise tasks and have effective time management and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• There will be significant travel involved in the role.
• Good capability with Microsoft Office software.
• Experience with SAP is desirable, training will be available.
• English language is mandatory.
• German language would be beneficial.
