Jobbeschreibung

Description

Do you want to work on a New Class of Drones? Our product universe spans three different platforms with maximum take‑off weights of up to 1000 kg and characteristic dimensions of 8 m: the hexacopter Grille for medical evacuation, the multi‑role rotorcraft Wespe for logistics and support operations, as well as the fixed‑wing drone Bussard for surveillance and intelligence missions. All systems are powered by RasCore, our highly redundant, military‑grade avionics system for safe operations within EASA’s Specific Category. Three aircraft, one mission: to bridge the gap between small UAVs and traditional manned systems.

Delivering robust and reliable unmanned aerial systems requires high standards throughout the entire development lifecycle. As a Process and Configuration Control Engineer, you will shape and maintain the processes that ensure the quality, traceability, and compliance of our products — from early design activities to operational deployment. In this role, you will design, implement, and continuously improve development‑related processes in accordance with aviation standards and UAS regulatory requirements. Your work will directly contribute to a scalable and efficient engineering organization and help establish a strong culture of quality and continuous improvement across the company.

A key part of your responsibility will be the control of product configurations and design baselines. You will ensure that system configurations, changes, and releases are consistently managed and traceable throughout the product lifecycle, enabling us to always know which configuration is authorized for which mission and at which point in time. You will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams across aircraft design, systems engineering, software, structures, testing, flight operations, and certification. The role requires structured and analytical thinking, strong communication skills, and a pragmatic mindset to balance process rigor with development efficiency.

Tasks
  • Develop, document, implement, and improve engineering and operational processes in the context of UAS regulatory framework
  • Support and further develop the company’s quality management system in line with EN9100 principles
  • Establish and maintain product configuration management and change control processes
  • Manage configuration baselines, engineering changes, and release statuses across the product lifecycle
  • Coordinate change review and approval activities with cross‑functional engineering teams
  • Ensure traceability between requirements, designs, configurations, verification activities, and operational releases
Qualifications
  • Degree: Completed or ongoing degree (Bachelor/Master) in engineering management, aerospace engineering, systems engineering, industrial engineering, economics engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: 2 years of experience with process management, quality management, or configuration control in a regulated engineering environment.
  • Skillset: Structured and detail‑oriented working style with strong analytical skills, pragmatic and solution‑oriented mindset
  • Method-Knowledge: Expertise in quality management and EN 9100. Product Lifecycle Management, ARP4754A or related development processes
  • Tool-Knowledge (mandatory): Microsoft office portfolio
  • Required for employment: Security clearance (Ü2‑Sabotageschutz) approval (note: relationships in countries according to § 13 para. 1 no. 17 SÜG may result in a negative assessment)
