Job description

Description

Do you want to work on a New Class of Unmanned Aircraft? Our product universe spans three different platforms with maximum take‑off weights of up to 1000 kg and characteristic dimensions of 8 m: The hexacopter Grille for medical evacuation, the multi‑role rotorcraft Wespe for logistics and support operations, as well as the fixed‑wing drone Bussard for surveillance and intelligence missions. All systems are powered by RasCore, our highly redundant, military‑grade avionics system for safe operations within EASA’s Specific Category. Three aircraft, one mission: to bridge the gap between small UAVs and traditional manned systems.

As PLM Specialist, you will support the development and operation of our Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) environment and help establish a reliable digital backbone for our aircraft programs. Working closely with engineering, production, quality, and other technical functions, you will help structure product data, maintain consistent configurations, and improve processes throughout the product lifecycle. This is an opportunity to develop hands‑on PLM expertise in a fast‑paced aerospace environment and actively contribute to how complex aircraft data is managed from initial design through production and operation.

Tasks
  • Support the administration, configuration, and continuous improvement of the PLM environment.
  • Maintain and structure product data, including parts, assemblies, documents, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and associated metadata.
  • Support configuration management and ensure consistent product structures, revisions, and release statuses across engineering and production.
  • Assist engineering teams with PLM‑related workflows, data management, and day‑to‑day system usage.
  • Help define and implement workflows for document management, change management, release processes, and product configuration.
  • Support the integration and exchange of product data between PLM, CAD, ERP, and other engineering systems.
  • Identify opportunities to improve data quality, process consistency, and automation within the product lifecycle.
  • Create and maintain PLM documentation, user guidelines, and process descriptions.
  • Work closely with the technical departments to translate operational requirements into practical PLM solutions.
Qualifications
  • Degree: Academic degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: First practical experience with PLM, product data management, configuration management, engineering processes, or comparable technical systems. Relevant internships, working student positions, university projects, or professional experience are suitable.
  • Method‑Knowledge: Basic understanding of product lifecycle management, engineering change processes, product structures, Bills of Materials, configuration management, and structured technical data.
  • Tool‑Knowledge (mandatory): Confident use of common digital engineering and office tools and a strong interest in learning and working with PLM systems.
  • Tool‑Knowledge (optional)Experience with Siemens Teamcenter, CAD/PDM environments, ERP systems, databases, scripting, or system integrations.
  • Required for employment: Security clearance (Ü2‑Sabotageschutz) approval (note: relationships in countries according to § 13 para. 1 no. 17 SÜG may result in a negative assessment)
