TE Connectivity is seeking a Principal System Architect for Transportation Sensors (m/f/d) to lead system-level architecture and portfolio strategy. This global role requires close collaboration with customers, sales, PM, applications engineering and R&D to shape opportunities and define differentiated sensor solutions.

The candidate translates customer needs and market trends into executable roadmaps, guiding investments and ensuring customer value and competitive advantage.

Job Overview

The Principal System Architect - Transportation Sensors (m/f/d) Remote is a global leadership role responsible for shaping the transportation sensors market strategy and product portfolio. This role works closely with customers, sales, product management, applications engineering, and R&D to identify emerging opportunities and define differentiated sensor solutions that drive long-term business growth.

As a recognized subject matter expert, the Principal System Architect (m/f/d) provides system-level leadership across the organization, translating customer needs, market trends, and technology developments into innovative product concepts, technology roadmaps, and executable requirements. The role serves as a critical bridge between customers, engineering teams, and business leadership to ensure solutions deliver meaningful customer value and sustainable competitive advantage.

Job Requirements

• Serve as the recognized technical authority for transportation sensing applications, providing deep system-level expertise and guidance across customers, partners, and internal teams
• Translate market, application, and customer requirements into clear product specifications, system architectures, and development priorities
• Advise customers on system-level trade-offs and optimize sensing solutions to maximize performance, reliability, cost, and ease of integration
• Drive early customer engagement and design-in activities through close collaboration with engineering teams and technical decision-makers
• Develop and deliver application-focused training programs to elevate technical knowledge across sales, FAE, marketing, and engineering organizations
• Represent the company as a thought leader and subject matter expert through industry forums, trade shows, technical publications, and digital channels
• Monitor market trends, competitive developments, and evaluate emerging technologies to identify growth opportunities and to guide future investment decisions
• Develop customer-centric value propositions and solution strategies based on market and application insights
• Define and shape mid- and long-term product, technology, and innovation roadmaps
• Lead and sponsor advanced technology initiatives that enable differentiated products and sustainable competitive advantage
• Partner with Product Management, R&D, Sales, and Marketing to drive product strategy, portfolio development, and future technology investments
• Serve as a strategic technical advisor to business leadership by identifying portfolio and technology gaps, shaping long-term product and growth strategies, and driving innovation through cross-functional collaboration and customer-focused technology development

What Your Background Should Look Like

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline. Technical master’s degree preferred
• 10+ years direct experience within the transportation sensors market in a similar role. Preferred experience with automotive High Speed Rotary Sensing
• Strong understanding of sensor technologies and system-level integration
• Demonstrated experience working with customer engineering teams on technical solutions
• Ability to translate complex technical requirements into practical, scalable solutions
• Capability to synthesize and simplify complex situations and drive organizational alignment.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• Familiarity with market-driven product strategy and platform development
• Ability to lead and drive initiatives in a cross functional environment
• Proficiency using Microsoft Office tools
• Ability to travel globally 25% travel
