Job summary

DKV Mobility, a leading European B2B platform for on-the-road payment solutions, seeks a senior Data Scientist/ML Engineer to own the SmartRisk Engine and ML pipelines. You will design, train, validate, and deploy models, monitor performance, and drive risk strategy improvements across markets while mentoring data scientists.

Qualifications

• Extensive Data Science and ML experience with production-grade models.
• Strong Python, SQL and cloud data platform skills (Azure, Databricks, Snowflake).
• Knowledge of ML methods, calibration, explainability, monitoring and governance.
• Hands-on with LLMs and generative AI, including custom GPT apps.
• Proven track record owning business-critical models through full lifecycle: validation and governance.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder leadership bridging business and tech.

Responsibilities

• Own the SmartRisk Engine end-to-end and drive onboarding/offboarding decisions in Credit Management.
• Design, train, calibrate, validate, deploy, and continuously improve ML models.
• Monitor model performance, run drift analyses, and iterate on risk strategies.
• Build and optimize scalable ML pipelines with CI/CD, testing, and production deployment.
• Establish and drive MLOps standards, monitoring, data quality controls, and incident management.
• Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to data scientists; partner with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• You take end-to-end ownership of the SmartRisk Engine, the group-wide core rating and probability-of-default model that drives onboarding and offboarding decisions in Credit Management.
• You design, train, calibrate, validate, deploy, and continuously improve machine learning models to ensure high business impact and reliability.
• You monitor model performance, conduct drift analyses across markets and customer segments, and drive improvements to both models and risk strategies.
• You build and enhance scalable end-to-end ML pipelines, including testing, versioning, documentation, and production deployment.
• You establish and drive best-practice MLOps standards, including CI/CD, monitoring, alerting, model registries, data quality controls, and incident management.
• You act as a trusted advisor to management and business stakeholders while providing technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to data scientists.

What makes you stand out

• You bring extensive experience (ideally 7+ years) in Data Science and Machine Learning, working with production-grade models.
• You have strong expertise in Python, SQL, and cloud data platforms such as Azure, Databricks, or Snowflake.
• You possess deep knowledge of machine learning methods, model calibration, explainability, monitoring, and model governance.
• You have hands-on experience with LLMs and generative AI solutions, including custom GPT applications.
• You have a proven track record of independently owning business-critical models throughout their full lifecycle, including validation and governance.
• You are an excellent communicator with strong stakeholder management and leadership skills, capable of bridging business and technology teams effectively.
