Job summary

Digital Waffle in Berlin is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to optimize reliability, scalability and performance of production infrastructure. You will drive robust architectures and push improvements across the stack.

You will collaborate with software engineers to build more reliable services, implement SRE practices like SLIs/SLOs and post-mortems, and help modernise legacy infrastructure with pragmatic risk controls. Hybrid work and a modern Berlin office are offered.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in SRE, DevOps, Platform Engineering or a similar role.
• Experience running production workloads on cloud platforms.
• Strong Linux and distributed systems knowledge.
• Experience with Terraform or another Infrastructure as Code tool.
• Strong CI/CD experience.
• Practical Kubernetes and container experience.
• Experience building meaningful monitoring and observability.
• Understanding of SRE principles beyond the title.
• Experience dealing with incidents and improving systems after them.
• Ability to modernise legacy infrastructure thoughtfully and pragmatically.
• Understanding of cloud security and cost optimisation.
• Programming experience with Python or Go.
• Bonus: hybrid/on-premise environments or ISO 27001 / SOC 2 knowledge.
