AVATR Global Design Center is seeking a skilled Perceived Quality (PQ) Designer to join the Vortex Lab team in Munich. You will help ensure A-class craftsmanship and quality targets across interior and exterior design, with strong focus on materials, finishes, and surfaces.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in automotive perceived quality, excellent communication, and the ability to collaborate across design and manufacturing.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in perceived quality, design quality, craftsmanship, or product validation in automotive.
• Strong understanding of automotive materials, finishes, surface quality, lighting, ergonomics, and tactile perception.
• Experience with fit & finish evaluation, A-class craftsmanship, and surface quality assessment.

We are seeking a highly skilled Perceived Quality (PQ) Designer to join our Vortex Lab team. This role is responsible for supporting perceived quality throughout the vehicle design and development process, working closely with Interior and Exterior design teams to achieve quality and craftsmanship targets. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive design and perceived quality, with a keen eye for detail and a solid understanding of materials, surfaces, interfaces, and manufacturing processes.

What you will do:

• Identify and manage key quality and value targets in line with program requirements and design objectives
• Provide perceived quality guidance and alignment for design parts throughout the development process
• Identify quality and craftsmanship problem areas, drive task forces, and coordinate effective solutions
• Support Interior and Exterior teams in resolving main surface and interface issues, ensuring design intent and quality targets are achieved
• Develop, maintain, and distribute best practice guidelines, and provide mentoring to support consistent quality execution
• Prepare and document lessons learned to support continuous improvement and future program development
• Provide VAVE support by contributing perceived quality perspectives to optimize design, value, and quality targets
• Ensure A-class craftsmanship quality approval prior to design release
• Coordinate closely with the CMF team to align quality standards, identify issues, and support timely resolution

What you will bring:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in perceived quality, design quality, craftsmanship, or product validation within the automotive industry
• Strong understanding of automotive materials, finishes, surface quality, lighting, ergonomics, and tactile perception
• Experience with fit & finish evaluation, A-class craftsmanship, and surface quality assessment
• Good understanding of automotive development and manufacturing processes and their impact on perceived quality
• Strong problem-solving skills, with experience in driving quality issues, task forces, and solutions to completion
• Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams
• Resilient under pressure, able to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment; willingness to travel internationally as required
