Jobtailor is seeking a Payroll Specialist to manage full-cycle payroll for 350+ employees across multiple states. You will validate timesheets, calculate wages, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws.

You will drive payroll processing in ADP Workforce Now and assist with transitions to Paylocity while supporting month-end close and internal reporting. The role emphasizes accuracy, cross-functional collaboration, and strong problem-solving skills, with in-office work and remote

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or relevant field; equivalent experience will be considered.
• 2+ years multi-state payroll experience required.
• Paylocity and/or ADP Workforce Now knowledge is preferred.
• NetSuite Accounting Software experience preferred.
• Understanding of California wage and hour laws, including Overtime and Meal Break requirements.
• Inventory management experience desired.

Own full-cycle payroll for 350+ hourly, salaried, and commission-based employees located in Minnesota, California, and Arizona
Validate timesheets for weekly payroll processing
Calculate wages, overtime, tips, commissions, and bonuses
Process payroll using ADP Workforce Now and support transition to Paylocity
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws
Process wage garnishments, levies, and other court-ordered deductions
Balance payroll runs and provide reporting to internal teams
Maintain organized payroll transaction records
Research and resolve payroll-related inquiries and issues
Serve as a subject-matter expert for payroll audits and reporting
Verify retirement plan enrollment and participant withholding changes
Compile and post weekly sales journal entries
Calculate and validate monthly inventory entries
Create and manage salon discounts and promotions in the POS system
Assist the Senior Accountant and Controller with month-end close
Prepare assigned account reconciliations
Assist with payroll and accounting software and application migrations
Assist in preparing monthly financial reports for leadership and salons
Collaborate with salon leadership teams and the Creative Hub team

Requirements

• 2+ years multi-state payroll experience required
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or relevant field; equivalent experience will be considered
• Paylocity and/or ADP Workforce Now knowledge is preferred
• NetSuite Accounting software experience preferred
• Understanding of California wage and hour laws, including Overtime and Meal Break requirements
• Inventory management experience desired
• Work primarily in-office, with remote work up to two days a week after successful completion of training
• Experience processing payroll for hourly, salaried, and commission-based employees
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local wage and hour laws
• Ability to use payroll and accounting systems, including ADP Workforce Now and transitioning to Paylocity
