Zusammenfassung

AVENTA seeks an experienced Offshore Operations Manager to lead client-side offshore operations from CSOVs during the German North Sea campaign. You will act as a proactive representative on board, ensuring HSE leadership and coordinated SIMOPS across vessels.

The role requires coordination with Installation Managers, Works Managers and Marine Coordination Centre, with continuous coverage 14 days on/14 days off. A technical background and valid offshore certifications are essential.

Qualifikationen

  • Must have offshore construction, operations or maintenance experience.
  • Ability to manage and coordinate people in an international project environment.
  • Experience with SIMOPS coordination on large offshore wind construction campaigns is a plus.
  • Experience working from CSOVs is advantageous.

Location: German North Sea (offshore, onboard a Construction Service Operation Vessel - CSOV)

Start date: From January 2027 (tentative, subject to project schedule)

Duration: Through the full offshore construction campaign, into 2028, with continuity across two CSOVs

Rotation: Back-to-back rotation, 14 days on / 14 days off, 12 hours per day

Compensation: Competitive

Travel: Mobilisation and crew changes organised via the project's base port

Right to work / visa: Eligible to work in the EU without a visa required

Project scope

The assignment covers the client-side offshore operations leadership role across the construction campaign, delivered from Construction Service Operation Vessels (CSOVs). Two Offshore Operations Managers are required onboard at all times, providing continuous coverage as the campaign transitions between vessels, with personnel transferring between CSOVs during the overlap period to maintain continuity of project knowledge.

Role overview

Act as the client's professional and proactive representative onboard, providing HSE leadership and taking empowered decisions on offshore coordination and simultaneous operations (SIMOPS), while keeping full awareness of commercial and HSE constraints.

Reporting line: first point of contact for the client's Installation Managers and the contractor's Works Managers; liaises with the Marine Coordination Centre and forms part of the tactical emergency response team.

Key responsibilities

Offshore coordination and HSE leadership

  • Provide HSE leadership and act as a proactive client representative onboard
  • Liaise with all project stakeholders and consolidate the installation sequence and short-term lookahead
  • Lead daily construction progress and planning meetings, deciding on access rights based on lookaheads and priorities

Reporting and access management

  • Produce and share the Daily Construction Report and Weekly Vessel Traffic Information
  • Act as the accountable authority for offshore care, custody and control, and access prioritisation
  • Visualise and distribute project progress in schematic form

Marine coordination and emergency response

  • Liaise with the Marine Coordination Centre on access, weather, helicopter emergency medical services and stop-work events
  • Manage HEMS availability and support the call-off process in emergencies, including stop-work and start-work orders
  • Act as tactical first responder within the emergency response team

Planning support and continuity

  • Support the site planner with schedule analysis and input for programme optimisation
  • Proactively engage with contractors on upcoming vessel activities to ensure readiness without delay
  • Maintain continuity and ensure effective handovers between personnel rotations
  • Daily construction progress and planning meetings led, with comprehensive minutes produced and shared
  • Daily Construction Report and Weekly Vessel Traffic Information produced and shared with authorities and the project
  • Offshore access prioritised and care, custody and control maintained throughout the campaign
  • Continuity of project knowledge maintained through effective rotation handovers

Requirements

Education

  • Technical or engineering background, or equivalent professional experience

Experience

Must-have:

  • Relevant offshore construction, operations or maintenance experience
  • Proven ability to manage, motivate and coordinate people in an international project environment

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience of SIMOPS coordination on large offshore wind construction campaigns
  • Experience working from CSOVs

Certifications

  • Valid offshore medical certificate
  • Full GWO certification
  • HUET and CA-EBS may be required
  • Health and safety competency (e.g. IOSH, NEBOSH) and a valid safety passport

Technical skills
