Location: German North Sea (offshore, onboard a Construction Service Operation Vessel - CSOV)

Start date: From January 2027, tentative (second seat from January 2028)

Duration: Throughout the interim maintenance campaign on the assigned vessel

Rotation: Back-to-back rotation, 14 days on / 14 days off, 12 hours per day (with flexibility to support operational needs)

Travel: Mobilisation and crew changes organised via the project's base port; regular transfers to turbines by walk-to-work system or CTV

Right to work / visa: Eligible to work in the EU without a visa required

Equipment: Laptop, mobile phone and vessel-specific email account provided for the duration; certified site-specific PPE provided

Project scope

The assignment covers independent client-side representation during interim maintenance activities on an offshore wind farm cluster, delivered from a CSOV. One Offshore Client Representative is required onboard at all times, sharing 24-hour coverage with an Offshore Site Manager (12 hours each). This scope is distinctly independent oversight and contractual monitoring, rather than day-to-day operational supervision.

Role overview

Act as the client's professional and proactive representative onboard across technical, HSEQ, interface, risk and contractual matters, maintaining an independent factual record of the maintenance contractor's performance, and ensuring compliance with the client's requirements throughout the campaign.

Reporting line: in consultation with the Offshore Site Manager; represents the client at kick-off meetings and onboard the vessel for the entire campaign.

Key responsibilities

Independent oversight and compliance

• Monitor the interim maintenance contractor's activities and maintain an independent factual record of performance, delays, disruptions and contractual events
• Ensure compliance with the client's requirements and RAMS documentation
• Monitor contractor compliance with all applicable permits, licences and environmental obligations

Reporting and documentation

• Review and countersign Daily Progress Reports and defect reporting on the client's behalf, ensuring accuracy and timely submission
• Report deviations from contractual agreements, approved procedures, documentation or use of tools and equipment
• Keep the offshore activity tracker accurately updated during operations

HSE and stakeholder engagement

• Provide visible HSE leadership, conduct regular offshore walkdowns and escalation when standards are not met
• Diplomatically maintain communications with all relevant parties, engaging proactively with contractor crew to optimise productivity
• Observe vessel mobilisation and demobilisation activities and verify readiness to commence or close out offshore operations
• Independent, factual record of contractor performance and contractual events maintained throughout the campaign
• Daily Progress Reports and defect reporting reviewed, countersigned and submitted on time
• Deviations from contractual agreements and procedures identified and reported
• Offshore activity tracker kept accurately updated at all times

Requirements

Education

• Technical or engineering background, or equivalent professional experience

Experience

Must-have:

• Relevant offshore construction, operations or maintenance experience
• Proven ability to manage, motivate and coordinate people in an international project environment

Nice-to-have:

• Experience in a client representative or independent contract-monitoring role on offshore projects
• Experience working from CSOVs, with walk-to-work or CTV transfers

Certifications

• Valid offshore medical certificate
• Full GWO certification
• HUET and CA-EBS may be required
• Health and safety competency (e.g. IOSH, NEBOSH) and a valid safety passport

Technical skills

• Contract and progress-report review, including disputed time and delay analysis
• Compliance monitoring against permits, licences and environmental obligations
• Independent, factual and objective record-keeping
• Diplomatic but firm communication with contractor and project stakeholders
