The AR Supervisor will help lead our OB/GYN billing operations, ensuring efficient workflows, compliance, and performance excellence under the direction of our RCM Director. This role is ideal for someone who brings deep expertise in women’s health billing, is fluent in eClinicalWorks (eCW), and enjoys developing others while driving measurable results.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage the day-to-day operations of the AR team, ensuring timely and accurate execution of RCM processes.
- Serve as the subject matter expert for both OB/GYN billing and the eCW system, leading issue resolution and driving best practice implementation.
- Train, mentor, and support billing staff to ensure high performance, accuracy, and compliance.
- Act as the primary liaison between the AR team and RCM Director, ensuring transparency and alignment.
- Oversee key aspects of the revenue cycle including denial management, payment posting, and AR follow-up.
- Ensure compliance with payer guidelines, HIPAA regulations, and internal protocols.
- Analyze and interpret revenue cycle reports to identify trends, performance gaps, and areas for operational improvement.
- Ensure seamless integration of AI-based denial prevention tools into team workflows.
- Communicate system inefficiencies and collaborate with software teams to suggest enhancements to our platform.
- Collaborate with providers, patients, and payers to resolve outstanding balances fairly and efficiently.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient financial and personal information in accordance with HIPAA and practice standards.
- Model exceptional speed, accuracy, and professionalism in high-volume claims environments.
Structure and Expectations
- This position is 100% remote
- Reports directly to the RCM Director
- Helps to oversee a team of 6 A/R specialists and 2 payment posters, and collaborates closely with the coding department.
- Success in this role includes reducing denial rates by 10% over 6 months by utilizing our software, maintaining claim submission turnaround under 48 hours, and ensuring insurance AR >90 days is reduced to and remains below 15%.
Skills and Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years billing experience in a women’s health or OB/GYN setting.
- Hands‑on experience with eClinicalWorks (eCW) is required.
- At least 2 years of supervisory experience.
- At least 3 years of experience in AR/medical claims resolution.
- Working knowledge of OB/GYN coding, including global maternity care, gynecologic surgeries, and lab procedures.
- Working knowledge in ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.
- Strong understanding of RCM KPIs and the ability to identify and act on performance trends.
- Ability to design and implement process improvement projects based on KPI insights.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and collaboration skills.
- Strong organizational skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Comfortable using emerging technologies and adapting to change.
- Must be a team player who leads by example and is always willing to roll up your sleeves..
