1 & 1 Mail & Media Applications SE is seeking a Network Engineer to design, implement and operate scalable datacenter networks powering WEB.DE and GMX. You’ll drive automation with Ansible, Terraform, and Python, and work with Juniper, Arista, and Cisco gear in a collaborative international setting.

The role requires strong routing/switching knowledge, Linux skills, and the ability to create high‑level and low‑level documentation while ensuring reliability and security.

Formación

• Degree in a technical field and several years of experience in building and operating complex network infrastructures.
• Strong knowledge of datacenter networking, including L2/L3 technologies and virtualization overlays.
• Experience with automation, IaC, and collaboration in international agile teams.

• You design, implement, and operate highly available datacenter network architectures.
• You automate network operations using tools like Ansible, Terraform, and Python.

• You help ensure 24/6 operational continuity as part of a shared team responsibility.

Your Profile

Do you have a degree in a technical field and several years of experience in building and operating complex network infrastructures? Are you confident working in agile, international teams and solving challenging networking problems? We believe the following skills and experiences will help you to be successful in this role:

• Strong knowledge of protocols and technologies such as IEEE 802.1Q, BGP, IS-IS, VRF, EVPN, VXLAN, firewalling, overlay, and tunneling architectures.
• Experience with datacenter-grade network components. Preferably Juniper but also Arista, Cisco, or similar vendors.
• Proficiency in Linux-based systems and open-source routing/firewall components.
• Skilled in designing large-scale network solutions, including proofs of concept and creating high-level/low-level documentation.
• Bonus: Experience with Juniper Apstra, Cisco ACI, Arista EVPN, or VMware NSX is a plus.
