Zusammenfassung

Polarise seeks a network architect with deep expertise in IPv6-based BGP fabrics and modern data center networking to design, implement, and operate our infrastructure in Düsseldorf, Germany. You will evolve our AI/ HPC platform network, integrate bare-metal Kubernetes clusters, and manage firewall/load-balancing for robust data center services.

Ideal candidates bring several years of hands-on network experience, strong BGP/IPv6 skills, and familiarity with SDN, NVIDIA Spectrum/Quantum switches,

Qualifikationen

• Several years of hands-on experience in design, implementation and operation of modern data center networks.
• Strong expertise in BGP-based fabric architectures and IPv6.
• Experience with firewall and load balancing solutions in production enterprise or data center environments.
• Structured, self-driven work style and ownership of critical infrastructure.
• Excellent English skills (minimum B2); German a plus.
• EU citizenship or valid Germany work permit; ideally based in Germany.
• Willingness to participate in 24/7 on-call rotation and travel to data centers.

Your mission

• You design, implement, and operate our modern IPv6-based BGP fabric.
• You continuously evolve our network platform for AI and high-performance computing environments.
• You support the integration of our bare-metal Kubernetes clusters into the existing BGP fabric.
• You plan, implement, and operate firewall and load balancing solutions for our data center infrastructure.
• You actively contribute to the build-out of new data center locations and are responsible for integrating networking into existing platforms.
• You automate recurring network processes and ensure effective monitoring of our infrastructure.
• You design, implement, and operate high-performance InfiniBand fabrics for AI workloads.
• You analyze complex network incidents and ensure stable, highly available 24/7 operations.
• You play a key role in shaping our future network architecture and contribute your own ideas and technical standards.

Your profile

• You have several years of hands-on experience in the design, implementation, and operation of modern data center networks.
• You possess strong expertise in BGP-based fabric architectures and are confident working with IPv6.
• You have experience with firewall and load balancing solutions in production enterprise or data center environments.
• You work in a structured and self-driven manner and enjoy taking ownership of critical infrastructure.
• You have excellent English language skills (minimum B2); German language skills are a plus.
• You are an EU citizen or hold a valid work permit for Germany. Ideally, you are based in Germany.
• You are willing to participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation and occasionally travel to data center locations or team meetings.

Ideally, you also bring:

• Experience with NVIDIA Spectrum switches and Cumulus Linux.
• Experience with NVIDIA Quantum switches and InfiniBand environments.
• Knowledge of Software Defined Networking (SDN).
• Experience working with Kubernetes, particularly with Cilium.
• A passion for modern AI, HPC, and cloud infrastructures.
