Mail & Media GmbH. is seeking a Network Engineer to shape the future of our datacenter networks powering WEB.DE and GMX in Europe. You will design, implement, and operate highly available architectures and automate operations with Ansible, Terraform, and Python.

You will collaborate with international teams, develop secure, scalable infrastructure, and contribute to 24/7 operational continuity as part of a shared team.

Qualifications

• Degree in a technical field with several years of experience building and operating complex network infrastructures.
• Solid knowledge of data center networking protocols and technologies (IEEE 802.1Q, BGP, IS-IS, EVPN, VXLAN).
• Experience with datacenter-grade network components from major vendors (Juniper preferred, others like Arista/Cisco).
• Strong Linux-based system skills and open-source routing/firewall components.

Your profile

Do you have a degree in a technical field and several years of experience in building and operating complex network infrastructures? Are you confident working in agile, international teams and solving challenging networking problems? We believe the following skills and experiences will help you to be successful in this role:

• Strong knowledge of protocols and technologies such as IEEE 802.1Q, BGP, IS-IS, VRF, EVPN, VXLAN, firewalling, overlay, and tunneling architectures.
• Experience with datacenter-grade network components. Preferably Juniper but also Arista, Cisco, or similar vendors.
• Proficiency in Linux-based systems and open-source routing/firewall components.
• Skilled in designing large-scale network solutions, including proofs of concept and creating high-level/low-level documentation.
• Bonus: Experience with Juniper Apstra, Cisco ACI, Arista EVPN, or VMware NSX is a plus.
