ZEISS invites applications for a Mechatronics Module Engineer to lead the development of high-precision modules for semiconductor tooling in a global R&D environment.

You will drive concept maturation through integration readiness and deployment to full functional machines, coordinating across mechanical, electrical, software and metrology teams. Fluent English and German are essential, with a track record in precision machinery.

Qualifikationen

• University degree in mechatronics, precision engineering, systems engineering, physics or similar.
• Mechatronics expertise: precision mechanics, actuators, sensors, and control systems.
• Experience with module design, alignment concepts, vibration-sensitive assemblies and machine integration.
• Knowledge of requirements engineering, interface management, error budgeting, verification planning, risk management.
• Project management: plan work packages, milestones, dependencies, design reviews.
• Experience collaborating with suppliers, service providers and internal partners.
• Excellent English and German communication skills.

Aufgaben

• Drive development of a mechatronic module from concept to deployment.

Your Role

• drive the development of a mechatronic module, from concept maturation through integration readiness and deployment to the full functional machine
• coordinate interdisciplinary work packages across mechanical design, actuators, sensors, controls, software, metrology and system integration
• define and execute module design, interfaces, test strategies and verification plans for precise and reliable module performance
• plan and steer module development activities, including milestones, risks, dependencies, design reviews, integration steps and documentation deliverables
• support commissioning and troubleshooting, with a focus on alignment, stability, repeatability and manufacturability
• act as technical project lead for a small specialist team, ensuring clear priorities, stakeholder alignment and effective collaboration with internal and external partners

Your Profile

• a university degree in mechatronics, precision engineering, systems engineering, physics or a comparable technical field
• strong mechatronics expertise, including precision mechanics, actuators, sensors and control systems, alignment concepts, vibration-sensitive assemblies and machine integration experience in developing, integrating and verifying complex modules for high-precision machines, ideally in semiconductor equipment, metrology, lithography or optical systems
• good understanding of requirements engineering, interface management, error budgeting, verification planning and structured technical risk management
• project management skills for planning work packages, tracking milestones, coordinating dependencies, moderating technical decisions and communicating status to stakeholders
• experience in collaborating with suppliers, service providers and internal development partners on module design, prototype builds, test execution and issue resolution
• very good communication skills in English and German
