M&A Analyst (F/M/D) – Hamburg/Münster

The position

As an Analyst at Capcora office Hamburg or Münster, you will support the planning, structuring, and execution of our advisory mandates across Europe, focusing on renewable energy, energy transition assets, and infrastructure financing. You will work closely with senior team members on all stages of M&A and financing processes, providing essential financial analysis and market insights to guide decision-making. This role offers an exciting opportunity to expand your expertise in the renewable energy sector and develop a strong foundation in project and corporate finance.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Conduct financial analysis and modeling to support project and corporate finance, as well as M&A transactions, including developing financial models to evaluate equity and debt financing alternatives.
  • Prepare and review financial models for transactions and provide strategic corporate finance advice.
  • Perform valuations using comparative methodologies for renewable asset portfolios and companies.
  • Contribute to all stages of the deal cycle, from strategy and transaction planning to structuring (including drafting term sheets) and closing.
  • Conduct market or sector research, analyze results, and present findings to the team and clients.
  • Develop pitches and client presentations, and draft key process documents such as teasers, process letters, and information memorandums.
  • Support and coordinate the market approach, execution, and reporting for advisory mandates.
  • Coordinate due diligence activities, including setting up data rooms and managing Q&A processes in collaboration with international legal and technical advisors.
  • Work closely with a cross-functional team of professionals to deliver industry-leading service and best practices to our clients and partners.
For this role, ideally, you bring:
  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in finance, business, or a related field.
  • Gained first experience in banking, investment banking, financial advisory, or within the renewable energy sector, with a strong understanding of project and corporate finance structures.
  • Proven financial expertise and the ability to analyze large portfolios of assets and structure mid to large transactions.
  • Exceptional financial modeling skills.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and deal structuring abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, work under pressure, and maintain a high level of attention to detail.
  • High proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • A self-driven attitude with a passion for continuous learning and growth.
  • Strong analytical skills, a critical thinking mindset, and a hands-on team player mentality with excellent project and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Ability to communicate and negotiate fluently in German and English.
