Job summary

Airbus Defence and Space GmbH in Manching seeks a Manufacturing Engineer specialized in Jigs and Tools for composites to translate aircraft designs into production-ready assets. You will lead end-to-end industrialization, specify tooling, and work with ME Process Engineers, Operations, Maintenance, and Quality Assurance to meet OTOCOQ.

The role requires 5 years of composite tooling experience, CATIA design skills, and advanced English.

Qualifications

• Degree in Aeronautical or Industrial Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in composite tooling and manufacturing fixtures.
• Proficient in CATIA (V5/3DEXPERIENCE).
• Fluent English required.

Responsibilities

• End-to-End industrialization of Jigs and Tools assets from design to handover.
• Design and specify Jigs and Tools per ME/Operations requirements.
• Integrate Health & Safety, Ergonomics, Environment, Security into specs.
• Ensure solutions are integrated within the industrial system with KPI-driven acceptance.
• Support procurement with technical specifications for tenders.
• Assist Capex/OpEx alignment and financial dossiers.
• Drive root-cause analysis and continuous improvement.

Through close collaborative development with aircraft design and other engineering disciplines, Manufacturing Engineering (ME) ensures the manufacturing feasibility OTOCOQ (On Time, On Cost, On Quality) of our new products. We act as the vital link to our internal production departments and external suppliers, enabling the manufacturing of parts, assembly, integration, and testing (“MAIT” system) of cutting-edge aircraft.

Your tasks and responsibilities

• End-to-End Industrialization: Ensure the successful industrialization of Jigs and Tools assets (creation, development, and modification) based on identified operational needs until final acceptance and handover to Operations Management.
• Design & Technical Specifications: Design and/or specify requested Jigs and Tools assets according to requirements from ME Process Engineers, Operations, Maintenance Engineers, and Plant/FAL Quality Assurance Representatives.
• Compliance & Human Factors: Seamlessly integrate requirements regarding Health & Safety, Ergonomics, Environment, Security (including Cyber Security), and legal standards (Export Control, CE Marking) into J&T technical specifications.
• Industrial Integration: Ensure supplied solutions are fully integrated within the industrial system through robust acceptance processes driven by defined KPIs.
• Procurement Support: Actively contribute to procurement phases, including the drafting of technical specifications for calls for tender.
• Capex/Opex Alignment: Support Finance activities in elaborating CapEx and OpEx dossiers.
• Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement: Support root cause analysis for non-conformities and drive corrective action projects.
• Technology Insertion: Integrate mature industrial technologies in liaison with R&T/R&D to consolidate the Airbus Industrial Vision.

Desired skills and qualifications

• Education: Degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related disciplines.
• Experience: 5 years of proven professional experience in composite tooling, manufacturing fixtures, and composite materials.
• CAD Skills: Advanced level of proficiency in CATIA (V5 / 3DEXPERIENCE).
• Soft Skills: High adaptability to work on cutting-edge topics within an agile, cross-functional networking environment.
• Languages: Advanced / fluent proficiency in English (working language).
