Job summary

HANGAR 901 Aircraft Maintenance GmbH in Germany seeks a senior leader to head the Project Management Team overseeing aircraft maintenance projects from handover to redelivery. You will manage project schedules, budgets and client expectations in a high‑visibility, international environment.

The role requires proven leadership, deep knowledge of aviation maintenance processes (EASA Part-145), and strong stakeholder management.

Qualifications

  • Relevant technical or aviation qualification; background in aircraft maintenance preferred.
  • Proven experience in aircraft maintenance and management of complex projects.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience with responsibility for teams and project delivery.
  • Strong understanding of maintenance organization processes in an EASA Part-145 environment.
  • Solid knowledge of project planning, manpower/resource coordination, cost control and reporting.
  • Fluent English; German language is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and maintenance management systems (e.g., WINGS).
  • Class B driving license.
  • Eligibility to work in Germany and ability to pass background checks.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage and develop the Project Managers and Project Leaders, allocate projects and ensure an effective distribution of workload.
  • Oversee aircraft maintenance projects from preparation and contract handover through aircraft redelivery, with responsibility for schedules, budgets and customer expectations.
  • Maintain full visibility of ongoing hangar projects, consolidate daily status reporting and proactively escalate risks, delays and major findings.
  • Ensure robust project planning across manpower, tooling, materials and logistics in close cooperation with Production, Planning, Engineering and support departments.
  • Act as the senior escalation point for project and customer matters and promote clear, proactive communication throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Contribute operational expertise to bids, tenders and contract reviews, including feasibility, timelines, risks and cost estimates.
  • Monitor project budgets, cost performance and resource utilization and support commercial follow-up and final billing where required.
  • Ensure compliance with aviation regulations, safety standards and internal procedures while driving productivity, profitability and continuous improvement.

What you bring
  • Relevant technical or aviation qualification, with a background in aircraft maintenance preferred
  • Proven experience in aircraft maintenance and the management of complex projects
  • Demonstrated leadership experience with responsibility for teams and project delivery
  • Strong understanding of maintenance organization processes in an EASA Part-145 environment
  • Sound knowledge of project planning, manpower and resource coordination, cost control and management reporting
  • Confident communication and stakeholder management skills in an international customer environment
  • Very good command of written and spoken English; German is an advantage
  • Proficiency in MS Office and maintenance management systems such as WINGS
  • Structured decision-making, resilience and a solution-oriented leadership approach
  • Class B driving licence
  • Eligibility to work in Germany
  • Ability to meet the requirements of a background check in accordance with the German Aviation Security Act
