Duties

• Works alone or in a group performing a variety of tasks involving the maintenance and repair of recreational grounds, buildings and structures, and appurtenant fixtures.
• Duties require the use of trade practices associated with carpentry and painting as well as work involving motor vehicle operations.
• Measures, cuts, constructs and/or repairs wood, composite building materials, and wood substitute items where specific fit and accuracy are required within allowable limits to produce a serviceable product.
• As needed, replaces worn or broken wall switches and outlets.
• Replaces ceiling light and/or burned out bulbs.
• Repairs faucets, resets toilets, and lavatories.

Requirements

• Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
• Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
• A one-year probationary period may be required.
• This position has an occasional driving requirement in support of the activity.
• Must be willing to obtain and maintain both a valid USAREUR driver's license and a TMP license.
• Must be willing and able to work evenings, weekends, and Special MWR events.
• The work will be performed both indoors and outdoors.
• Exposed to dust and dirt.
• The worker may be required to perform in bad weather when having to work outdoors.
• The worker will be exposed to the possibility of cuts, bruises, burns, and broken bones from falling objects or when working on ladders or driving a motor vehicle.
• Must be willing and able to perform work while standing, stooping, bending, climbing, crawling and kneeling for extended periods in uncomfortable positions.
• Must be willing and able to lift and move materials weighing up to 40 lbs. and, occasionally heavier items with assistance.
• Must be willing and able to work from ladders.
• A health assessment is required.

Allowances and Differentials

• This job falls under the Federal Wage Schedule (FWS) pay system. FWS employees earn overtime pay for working more than 8 hours in a day or more than 40 hours in a week - whichever gives the employee more benefit.
• Regular full-time, regular part-time, and regularly scheduled flexible employees may receive Sunday premium pay for working on Sundays.
• Employees may also be eligible to receive extra pay if the majority of their scheduled hours falls after 3:00 PM.
• Foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), incentives and differentials will not be paid.

Pay Scale & Grade
