ENG Bauen is supporting the delivery of a major industrial investment programme in Western Germany, focused on advanced manufacturing and next-generation process technologies.
We are seeking an experienced Construction Logistics Manager to join the site-based project delivery organisation. The successful candidate will take ownership of all logistics planning, coordination, and execution activities across a large-scale, multi-contractor construction site.
This position plays a critical role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and timely flow of personnel, materials, and equipment throughout the project lifecycle. The role requires strong leadership, structured planning capability, and a detailed understanding of the interfaces between construction, procurement, and HSE.
The assignment offers a long-term contract running through 2027 and represents an opportunity to contribute to one of Europe\'s most advanced industrial developments.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and manage the site-wide logistics strategy, covering material flow, traffic routing, laydown areas, storage, waste handling, and site facilities.
- Establish logistics processes aligned with construction sequencing, project milestones, and safety standards.
- Oversee access control and gate operations in collaboration with the Security Manager, ensuring safe and compliant site entry.
- Manage on-site transportation and lifting logistics, including heavy equipment and bulk material movement.
- Supervise the setup and maintenance of temporary works, welfare facilities, and site services infrastructure.
- Control waste removal, recycling, and housekeeping activities in line with environmental standards.
- Provide input to the master construction schedule and monitor logistics KPIs to identify and resolve bottlenecks.
- Interface daily with client representatives, contractors, and key stakeholders to coordinate logistics across multiple disciplines.
Ideal Candidate / Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years' experience in construction logistics management or site operations within large-scale industrial, pharmaceutical, or high-technology projects.
- Demonstrated capability in developing and executing logistics strategies for complex multi-stakeholder construction environments.
- Strong knowledge of material handling, site layout design, access planning, and contractor interface management.
- Experience integrating logistics and construction schedules, with proficiency in reporting and progress tracking systems.
- Excellent organisational, coordination, and communication skills, with the ability to operate under tight project constraints.
- Fluent in English; German language skills are advantageous for site coordination and stakeholder engagement.
- Full eligibility to work within the European Union.
