About the Role:
H&MV Engineering is seeking proactive Logistics & Site Manager to support our growing portfolio of electrical infrastructure projects across Germany. This role extends beyond traditional logistics management and includes responsibility for on-site logistics coordination, ensuring the safe and efficient planning of access routes, walkways, working zones, and plant/machinery movement. The successful candidate will play a critical role in enabling safe, efficient, and timely project delivery across substations, data centres, and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Logistics Planning & Coordination
- Develop and manage end-to-end logistics strategies across multiple concurrent projects
- Align material delivery schedules with project programmes and construction sequencing
- Coordinate closely with Procurement, Project Managers, and Site Teams on material forecasting and delivery requirements
- Support mobilisation planning and ongoing logistics optimisation
- Manage freight forwarders, hauliers, and logistics partners across Europe
- Oversee transport of large-scale electrical equipment (transformers, switchgear, cable systems, etc.)
- Plan and optimise routes, loads, and delivery schedules to ensure cost efficiency and reliability
- Monitor shipments and resolve delays or disruptions
Site Coordination & Logistics Layout
- Develop and manage site logistics plans, including layout of access roads, laydown areas, and storage zones
- Coordinate walkways and personnel access routes to ensure safe and controlled site movement
- Define, implement, and manage working zones to avoid congestion and support efficient sequencing of works
- Coordinate the movement and positioning of plant, machinery, lifting equipment, and deliveries on site
- Continuously review and optimise logistics layouts to improve workflow and productivity
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Work closely with onsite HSE Advisor to ensure all site logistics and coordination activities meet German HSE regulations and company standards
- Support integration with site safety plans (e.g., traffic management, segregation of personnel and plant)
- Ensure compliance with all transport, lifting, and site access requirements
- Maintain accurate logistics and compliance documentation (permits, delivery records, customs where applicable)
- Identify logistics-related risks and implement mitigation strategies
- Monitor logistics costs against project budgets and drive cost efficiencies
- Provide input into tendering and pre-construction planning related to logistics strategy and cost
Stakeholder Coordination
- Act as the key interface between site teams, operations, procurement, and commercial teams
- Collaborate with Construction Managers and HSE teams to ensure safe and practical site coordination
- Provide regular updates to project and senior management on logistics performance, risks, and constraints
Key Requirements:
- Degree, diploma, or equivalent qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience managing logistics and material coordination on large-scale construction or infrastructure projects.
- Experience within High Voltage Substations, Data Centres, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), industrial construction, or EPC projects is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of material planning, warehousing, inventory control, transportation, and construction logistics.
- Experience coordinating deliveries of large electrical equipment such as transformers, switchgear, cable systems, and associated plant.
- Good understanding of construction sequencing and material flow management.
- Familiarity with German HSE regulations and logistics compliance requirements.
- Excellent organisational, planning, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills with the ability to coordinate across multiple project teams.
- Ability to manage competing priorities across several concurrent projects.
