Sumo India invites an experienced Lead Technical Designer to join our growing team of designers focused on creating robust levels and gameplay experiences for multi-platform titles, in collaboration with our UK teams.

As a Lead Technical Designer, you will bridge the gap between Level Design and Engineering, applying design theory and technical know-how to empower other designers to prototype, iterate and implement world and gameplay content efficiently and scalably.

Qualifikationen

• Understanding of Technical Design theory, standards and best practices for robust systems and gameplay objects.
• Experience with scripting (visual/text) or programming languages.

Description

Sumo India are looking for Lead Technical Designer to join our growing team of designers focused on building robust and cohesive levels and gameplay experiences for a variety of multi-platform titles, in collaboration with our UK based teams.

As a Lead Technical Designer in the World discipline, you will bridge the gap between Level Design and Engineering. Through application of a strong knowledge of both design theory and technical know-how, you’ll empower other designers to prototype, iterate and implement world and gameplay content efficiently, ensuring that gameplay systems, content, tools and workflows are efficient, scalable, and technically sound.

Requirements

Essential

• Understanding of Technical Design theory, standards and best practices in the creation of robust systems and gameplay objects, level streaming and scripting ,appropriate to seniority.
• Demonstrable experience in some form of scripting (visual/text based), or programming languages.
• Experience working with industry‑standard game engines and design tools.
• Fluency in English with excellent communication and feedback skills, both written and verbal.

Desirable

• Professional experience in Game Development, in the field of Technical Design.
• Experience collaborating with outsourced or external development teams in multiple time‑zones.
• A background spanning varying genres such as open world, action-adventure, platforming and/or racing titles.
• Familiarity with performance, memory, and technical constraints in world building.
• Knowledge or experience of working with object-oriented programming / languages such as C++.
