Job summary

Maxphotonics GmbH is seeking a Junior Finance Specialist in Gilching, near Munich, to handle accounts payable/receivable, expense claims, and treasury support. The role reports to the Head of Finance and requires initiative in managing documentation and month-end tasks.

The ideal candidate has a finance or accounting degree and 1–2 years of experience, with strong German and English, plus Chinese language skills. Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with DATEV or Oracle is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• 1–2 years of relevant experience in accounts payable/receivable or general accounting.
• Fluent in German and English; callable in Chinese (spoken and written).
• Strong Excel skills; DATEV or Oracle experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review and post supplier invoices and arrange payments.
• Review employee expense claims and reimburse on time.
• Support cash management: liaise with banks and monitor payments.
• Reconcile accounts receivable and payable balances.
• Assist with tax-related documents and liaise with tax advisors in Germany.
• Maintain and archive financial documents and records.
• Assist with month-end closing activities and related tasks.
• Perform other finance and administrative duties as needed.

Job description

Position: Junior Finance Specialist (Full-Time)

Location: Gilching, near Munich, Germany

Reporting to: Head of Finance

Key Responsibilities

• Accounts Payable Management
  • Review and post supplier invoices.
  • Prepare payment documents and arrange external payments.
• Employee Expense Management
  • Review employee expense claims and supporting documents.
  • Follow up on reimbursement processes to ensure timely payment to employees.
• Cash & Treasury Support
  • Liaise with banks and monitor incoming and outgoing payments.
  • Maintain cash flow and payment records.
• Accounts Reconciliation
  • Reconcile accounts receivable and accounts payable balances and transactions.
• Tax Support
  • Assist with the preparation and organization of tax-related documents.
  • Liaise with external tax advisors in Germany.
• Financial Documentation
  • Maintain and archive financial documents and records.
• Month-End Closing
  • Assist with monthly closing activities and related accounting tasks.
• Other Duties
  • Perform other finance and administrative tasks assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• 1–2 years of relevant experience in accounts receivable, accounts payable, or general accounting.
• Good command of German and English; fluent Chinese (spoken and written).
• Strong Excel skills; experience with DATEV or Oracle financial systems is a plus.
• Detail-oriented, accurate, numerically sensitive, reliable, and well-organized.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Knowledge of German VAT and corporate/income tax regulations is a plus.
