NIO Deutschland GmbH, Munich, is seeking a Junior Exterior Designer to join our Europe Headquarter team. The role focuses on shaping exterior concepts through sketches, computer renderings, and AI-assisted workflows, collaborating with global colleagues toward production-ready designs.

Ideal candidates hold a Transportation Design degree, have 2+ years of automotive experience, and command Blender, Photoshop, Illustrator, Keyshot, and AI tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master’s degree in Transportation Design.
• 2+ years of work experience in a global automotive context, preferably OEM.
• Experience with production and advanced design programs.
• Expertise with common design software tools (Blender, Photoshop, Illustrator, Keyshot, and AI)

Responsibilities

• Work on a broad range of advanced and production design programs as part of a global team of creative designers
• Express a high level of creativity through free-hand drawings as well as computer sketches, renderings and AI-assisted work
• Demonstrate a high level of flexibility by working on overall design proposals as well as detail design solutions
• Work closely with other departments (3D modelling, studio engineering, visualization) to bring a new design from sketch phase to production

Qualifications

• Passionate about car design and about creating a profound change in the automotive industry
• Willing to continuously learn and step outside one's comfort zone. Thriving on new, complex challenges and wanting to make a difference
• Proactive and self-motivated, able to work as part of a team in a fast-paced studio environment under tight time constraints
• Exceptional verbal and visual communication skills
• Bachelor or Master's degree in Transportation Design
