Job summary

NIO in Munich is seeking an Intern for Exterior Automotive Design for a 6-month program (40 hours per week). You will join a highly creative team, contributing to exterior design concepts and collaborating with global partners to deliver an inspiring vehicle vision.

This internship requires current enrollment (minimum 3 semesters) in Automotive or Industrial Design, strong creative flair, and proficiency in Blender, Photoshop, Illustrator or Keyshot.

Intern, Exterior Automotive Design (m/f/x)

Duration: 6 months / working hours: 40 hours/ week

In joining the Exterior Design department as a design intern, you will have the opportunity to be part of a highly creative team with wealth of knowledge in creating fascinating new vehicles and car related products. During your internship you will gain valuable first-hand experience, working with an international team to gain insights and deliver an Exterior design vision with global partners.

Main Responsibilities:

• Explore User Experience via different vehicle architecture.
• Bring a new way of thinking and creative ideas to strengthen our design studio
• Contribute to the evolving design culture and process in our studio
• Participate in design trend and market research
• Continually seek out new innovative ideas and trends in line with our strategy team and the other design departments

Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled in college or university (having completed a minimum of 3 semesters) with focus in the design field (Automotive Design, Industrial Design, or a related field)
• Strong automotive design background, high creativity, great sense of future trends and passion for car design
• An eye for proportion, details, consistency and high-level aesthetics
• Self-organized and structured team player
• Skills in basic design software required, like Blender, Photoshop, Illustrator, Keyshot. Additional expertise in the use of AI tools is highly appreciated.
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English.
