ONVO is seeking a skilled 3D Polygon Modeler to join our Munich design team. You will craft high-fidelity vehicle models (exterior/interior) and create immersive environments that reflect our brand across design reviews, marketing, and digital experiences.

Responsibilities include texture and shader work, lighting setup, and motion-ready assets for cinematic visuals. Proficiency in Maya, V-Ray/Arnold/Redshift, and real-time engines is preferred.

It focuses on the family car market, offering intelligent electric vehicles with a design, development, manufacturing, and sales scope. The brand aims to provide a convenient and cost-effective car ownership experience, leveraging NIO's established energy services. The first model, the ONVO L60, was unveiled in May 2024. ONVO is designed to support family growth and enhance daily life, offering various services to its users.

For our Design Team in Munich we are looking for a

3D Polygon Modeler (m/f/x)

ONVO is looking for a 3D Polygon Modeler to join our automotive design team. You will create high-fidelity vehicle models and environments that define our brand’s visual identity across design reviews, marketing, and digital experiences.

Responsibilities:

• High-Fidelity Modeling: Develop complex 3D polygon models of vehicles (exterior/interior) and props with meticulous attention to surface continuity and edge flow.
• World Building: Design and assemble full 3D environments—from minimalist architectural studios to expansive, realistic landscapes to serve as backdrops for our fleet.
• Material Design: Create and apply advanced PBR textures and shaders that accurately represent automotive paints, glass, textiles, and alloys.
• Lighting & Rendering: Master studio and natural lighting setups to produce "hero" imagery for design reviews and marketing campaigns.
• Motion & Narrative: Transform static assets into compelling visual stories through camera animation, vehicle movement, and cinematic video editing.

Qualifications:

• Software Mastery: Expert-level proficiency in Autodesk Maya is required.
• Polygon Expertise: Deep understanding of sub-division surface modeling, clean topology, and edge-flow optimization.
• Rendering Engines: Experience with industry-standard renderers such as V-Ray, Arnold, or Redshift.
• Visual Eye: A strong grasp of form, silhouette, and proportions, specifically within the automotive sector.
• Portfolio: A professional reel or portfolio demonstrating high-poly automotive models and environment work.

"Plus" Skills

• Experience with real-time engines like Unreal Engine 5 or Unity.
• Knowledge of Adobe After Effects or another softwarefor video post-production and compositing.
• Previous experience working directly with automotive designers to bridge the gap between concept and technical reality.
• AI Integration: Familiarity with AI-driven design tools and workflows.
