deverellsmith in the UK is seeking a Junior Accountant to join the Service Charge Accounts team. You will assist with budgets, billing, and year-end service charge accounts for property portfolios.
The role offers hybrid working, extensive training, and clear career progression within a growing, award-winning property management company employing 700+ colleagues. Salary £28,000–£32,000 per annum.
Prepare and load accurate annual service charge budgets for property portfolios
Process billing for service charges, ground rent, and additional fees to leaseholders
Prepare comprehensive year-end service charge accounts
Collaborate with external accountants during account reviews and audits
Manage utility and insurance recharges to leaseholders
Handle tax administration and compliance requirements
Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
Support the Estate Management team with financial queries
Relevant accounting experience (service charge experience advantageous but not essential)
Strong numeracy and analytical skills with attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (Qube experience beneficial)
Collaborative approach with ability to work across departments
Professional attitude with customer service focus
Organised approach to managing multiple priorities
