IT Support & Services Engineer (m/f/d) - 2 years contract
Join our global IT operations team in Munich as an IT Support & Services Engineer – a role that blends hands‑on infrastructure deployment with high‑level incident resolution and continuous improvement. You’ll be the bridge between corporate standards and local business needs, ensuring every site runs on reliable, secure hardware, networking, and virtualization platforms. This is a limited full‑time (Mon‑Fri) on‑site position.
Responsibilities
Implementation
- Setup and configuration of local IT environment according to corporate standards
- Deployment of new hardware, including receiving, racking, cabling, configuration and deployment
- Manage & implement local solutions (mobile phones, printers, backup) according to corporate policies
- Manage & implement local infrastructure (LAN, Server & Storage, Audiovisual) according to business needs and corporate policies
- Collect local business needs and participate in the evolution of IT standards
- Participate in M&A integration processes to ensure local implementation of corporate strategy & plan
- Work closely with DevOps, Networking, and Application teams
- Document processes, configurations, and architectural decisions
Support
- Troubleshoot issues coming from Helpdesk
- Provide Tier 2 and 3 support for escalated infrastructure issues
- Ensure incident resolution based on OLA for hardware or systems on corporate personal IT work environments
- Troubleshooting & resolution on local infrastructure
- Propose and administer additional services for end‑users (loan fleet management, secure storage management, …)
- Provide internal consulting on systems & storage when necessary
- Collaborate with InfoSec teams to ensure compliance with ISO, GDPR, or NIST frameworks
Qualifications
- IT Support & Administration experience
- Data center infrastructure and best practices
- Knowledge of auxiliary DC systems (UPS, cooling, electrical distribution and balancing, monitoring)
- Up‑to‑date certifications preferred but not essential (MCP, CCNA, etc.)
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs)
- Understanding of how to manage Windows systems in Active Directory (GPOs, SecurityGroups, User‑ and ComputerObjects)
- Computer & Operating Systems: Linux (RHEL, SUSE) / Windows (Server + Client)
- Strong expertise in virtualization technologies (VMware vSphere, Hyper‑V, Horizon, etc.)
- Technical support experience
- Automation Technologies such as Ansible and Jenkins
- Fluency in German and English (verbal and written) is mandatory
- French is a plus but not required
- General interest in emerging technologies such as AI / VR and modern work environments
- High self‑motivation to improve existing processes and systems
