Rocket Factory Augsburg (RFA) is seeking an Intern (m/f/d) in Systems Engineering to support the creation and maintenance of wiring diagrams, requirements, and verification activities for launch vehicle and launch site systems.

The role offers hands-on experience in a dynamic New Space startup and collaboration across international teams. A strong passion for rocketry and practical project experience is essential, with fluent English required for effective communication.

Qualifikationen

• Currently enrolled in Bachelors or Masters in Aerospace/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Demonstrated hands-on experience in design projects or student teams.

Aufgaben

• Draft and manage piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) and power and signal diagrams (P&SDs) for vehicle and launch site.
• Formulate and document requirements for launch vehicle and launch site systems.
• Support verification and validation (V&V) activities and ensure end-to-end traceability of requirements.
• Trade-off architecture decisions and perform risk analysis (FMEA, FMECA, and FTA) for critical systems.
• Help maintain, and document internal software, and develop tools in Python.
• Coordinate between different teams to solve multi-disciplinary technical problems.

Your Tasks

Your Qualifications

• Currently in Bachelors or Masters in Aerospace/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Passionate about rocketry.
• Demonstrated practical/hands-on experience in design projects or student teams (Rockets/UAVs/Automotive).
• Experience designing / operating fluid systems is ideal.
• Working knowledge of launcher/aerospace systems, systems engineering processes,V&V,and risk analysis.
• Comfortable with object-oriented programming in Python, experience using Git for software version control.
• Fluent English, oral and written. Able to communicate complex topics in a clear and simple manner.
