Job summary

Maersk is seeking a detail-oriented Import Agent to join its logistics team in Germany. You will coordinate air import shipments from quotation through final billing, ensuring accuracy and compliance while maintaining strong customer service.

You will communicate with airlines and customs brokers, verify documents, monitor status, and support process improvements. The role requires independent work but also collaboration with Sales and Customs teams to grow business.

Qualifications

• Experience in air import freight forwarding, logistics, or supply chain operations is preferred.
• Knowledge of air freight documentation, import procedures, and customs processes.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple shipments and priorities simultaneously.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• High attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and transportation management systems or logistics software.
• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage air import shipments from quotation through final billing.

• Process, verify, and monitor airway bills, shipping documentation, invoices, and related import paperwork.
• Ensure shipments comply with all applicable government regulations and import requirements.
• Track shipment progress and proactively communicate updates, delays, or issues to customers and stakeholders.
• Deliver exceptional customer service by responding promptly and professionally to customer inquiries and resolving shipment-related concerns.
• Maintain accurate records and databases of all import activities, documentation, and shipment status.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives by assisting in the development and optimization of import and export processes.
• Collaborate with the Sales and Customs teams to support new business opportunities while maintaining strong relationships with existing customers.

Owns the job file and also has responsibility for creating and updating
relevant documentation and Customer Invoices in the system.
