Job summary

Avantor is hiring an HR Solutions Partner, DACH, based in Darmstadt to advise managers and leaders across the region on employee relations and employment law. You will collaborate with our HR Shared Services team to deliver practical HR solutions and oversee critical HR programs.

You will partner with works councils, ensure compliance with BetrVG, and act as a local Workday champion. Fluency in German and English is required; French is a plus.

Qualifications

• 5-10 years HR advisory/HR generalist experience.
• Strong knowledge of German employment law incl. BetrVG and works councils; exposure to Switzerland.
• Experience partnering with works councils and managing consultation processes.
• Proficiency in Workday and case management environments (e.g., ServiceNow).
• Fluent German and strong English; French is a plus.

The Opportunity:

Do you enjoy solving complex people challenges, advising managers, and applying your HR expertise across multiple countries? Join us as our HR Solutions Partner, DACH, and play a key role in supporting employees and leaders across the region.

Based in Darmstadt, you'll serve as a trusted HR advisor, providing guidance on employee relations, employment law, works council matters, and key HR initiatives. Supported by our HR Shared Services team for transactional activities, you'll focus on delivering practical, value-added HR solutions that help the business succeed.

This is an individual contributor role suited to an experienced HR professional who thrives in a dynamic, multi-country environment and can confidently manage sensitive matters with sound judgment.

What You'll Do

• Partner with managers and employees on employee relations, employment law, and people-related matters across the DACH region.
• Support the resolution of workplace issues while ensuring compliance with local legislation and company policies.
• Build strong relationships with works councils and support consultation processes.
• Ensure compliance with local HR policies, regulatory requirements, and governance standards.
• Support the delivery of key HR programs, including performance management, compensation, engagement, and organizational initiatives.
• Act as a local Workday champion, promoting effective use of HR systems and self-service tools.
• Use HR data and insights to identify trends and support informed business decisions.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and collaborate with HR Shared Services, Centers of Excellence, and business leaders to enhance the employee experience.

What You’ll Bring

• 5-10 years of HR experience in an HR advisory, employee relations, or HR generalist role.
• Strong knowledge of German employment law, including works council regulations (BetrVG) and collective agreements, with exposure to Switzerland.
• Experience partnering with works councils and managing consultation processes.
• Proficiency in Workday and experience working within a case management or ticketing environment (e.g., ServiceNow).
• Fluent German and strong English communication skills; French is an advantage.
• Confidence advising managers on complex people matters and handling sensitive issues with sound judgment.
• Experience working in a matrixed, multinational environment and collaborating across HR functions.
• Exposure to HR transformation, process improvement, or change initiatives is a plus.

This position is initially offered on a fixed-term basis, with duration and employment terms discussed during the recruitment process.
