CYBEX is seeking a Head of Value Analysis & Value Engineering (VAVE) in Bayreuth, Germany. You will lead cross-functional teams to analyze products, drive cost optimization, and ensure value is balanced with quality and design.

The role requires substantial experience in VAVE/Value Engineering, strong analytical skills, and the ability to influence across functions and suppliers, including in China. English fluency is essential; a master's degree is preferred.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor-level or higher in Engineering, Industrial Design, Business, or related field.
• Several years of experience in VAVE/Value Engineering/Cost Engineering or equivalent field.

• Develop and execute cost optimization strategies aligned with CYBEX's premium positioning.
• Collaborate with R&D, Engineering, Procurement, Quality and Product Management to implement cost-saving opportunities.
• Support new product development and product improvement with value optimization from ideation to implementation.
• Analyze materials, components and processes to identify simplification and efficiency opportunities.
• Engage suppliers and factories to explore cost-reducing alternatives while maintaining standards.

Your seat to fill:

• Lead Value Analysis and Value Engineering initiatives across CYBEX, driving systematic analysis of our products to improve value by reducing cost and complexity without sacrificing quality, safety or design
• Develop and execute cost optimization strategies across product lines, ensuring that cost efficiency is always aligned with CYBEX's premium positioning
• Work closely with R&D, Engineering, Procurement, Quality and Product Management to identify, challenge and implement cost‑saving and value improvement opportunities
• Support new product development and existing product improvement initiatives throughout the product lifecycle, bringing a value optimization perspective from ideation through implementation
• Analyze products, components, materials and manufacturing processes to identify opportunities for simplification, alternative solutions and improved efficiency
• Collaborate with suppliers, factories and our teams in China to identify alternative materials, components and processes that reduce cost while maintaining CYBEX's high standards
• Use cost models, value stream mapping, benchmarking and performance metrics to understand cost drivers, evaluate opportunities and provide a clear basis for decision‑making
• Explore new technologies, manufacturing methods, materials and AI‑powered tools that can unlock new opportunities for value optimization and make our VAVE approach smarter and more efficient
• Develop VAVE methodologies, tools and best practices and share them across CYBEX, enabling cross‑functional teams to identify and implement value improvement opportunities
• Report VAVE progress, savings potential and business impact to senior leadership while ensuring that cost, quality, safety, design and sustainability are considered together

Your stroll to CYBEX:

• A degree in Engineering, Industrial Design, Business or a related field; a master's degree is preferred
• Several years of experience in VAVE, Value Engineering, Cost Engineering, product engineering or a comparable field, ideally within consumer products, automotive, baby gear or another complex product environment
• Strong technical understanding of materials, manufacturing processes and product development cycles, with the ability to connect technical decisions to their commercial impact
• Proven ability to lead multiple cross‑functional projects and turn cost‑saving ideas into implemented results
• Strong analytical skills and experience with cost modelling, root cause analysis, benchmarking and quantitative decision‑making
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to challenge and influence across functions and at senior level
• Understanding of global sourcing, supplier capabilities and manufacturing environments, ideally with experience working closely with teams and factories in China
• Experience with CAD, PLM, ERP or comparable systems such as SolidWorks and SAP, with the ability to work confidently with product and cost data
• An entrepreneurial and innovative mindset with the curiosity to challenge established solutions and find creative ways to balance performance, design, quality and cost
• Fluent in English, both written and verbal; additional languages are an advantage
