Job description

As our first dedicated operations hire, you do for calliora what calliora does for the hospital case. You connect what runs in parallel, keep it moving, catch what's missing, and close the loop. You work directly with the founders and own how the company runs outside of Tech, Product and Sales. Your goal is a company that runs reliably today and scales without breaking tomorrow. You don't just take tasks off people's plates; you build the systems behind them. You work with our external partners, automate wherever you can, and step in hands‑on wherever it matters. As the function grows, you'll build and lead a small team around you.

From day one, you own:

  • Finance operations: monthly close with our accounting and tax partners, budgeting, cash and burn tracking, and customer invoicing and collections.
  • Reporting: our KPI and reporting backbone. You prepare board meetings, investor updates and the data room, so the founders can focus on the story, not the spreadsheet.
  • People operations and hiring: the recruiting process from sourcing to signed contract, interview structure, onboarding and offboarding, payroll and benefits, and our HR stack.

Within your first year, you set up and run:

  • Legal and corporate administration, including contracts, vendor agreements, shareholder resolutions, and cap table and employee equity administration.
  • IT, procurement and spend control.
  • Planning cycles, OKRs and the operating rhythm of the company.
  • Compliance routines alongside our security team.
  • An ops stack that runs on automation and AI by default, not as an afterthought.

And you support:

  • Events, conferences and marketing execution.
  • An office in Munich that works for the team and leaves an impression on customers and candidates.
Within your first twelve months, you are setting up calliora for its next stage of growth
What we look for

You've built operations somewhere demanding, ideally at a top‑tier startup or scale‑up between Seed and Series B. A background in consulting, VC, or a Founder's Associate role that grew into real operational ownership works too.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • 3–5 years of experience in startup operations, with hands‑on ownership of at least finance and people operations.
  • A true generalist who prioritizes ruthlessly. You know which fire to fight today and which system to build so it doesn't start again.
  • AI-native with an automation mindset. You build your own tooling with AI, no-code and low-code.
  • You build systems, not workarounds. Your processes scale with the team and are documented so others can run them.
  • Experience with budgeting, P&L and investor reporting.
  • You thrive in early‑stage ambiguity. You default to action, own outcomes end to end, and take pride in the unglamorous details.
  • Excellent written and spoken German and English. Our customers are German hospitals.
  • Bonus: experience in healthcare or another regulated industry, or with certifications such as ISO 27001.
What we offer
  • The chance to build the operational foundation of a company working on one of society's most important institutions.
  • Direct collaboration with the founders every day and visibility with our investors.
  • Real ownership in what you build, with competitive salary and meaningful equity.
  • A high‑agency, in‑person team in Munich with short decision paths and real ownership from day one.
Location & Logistics
  • Based in Munich, in‑person.
  • Full‑time, permanent. Start as soon as possible.
About us

calliora is building the AI operating layer for hospital economics. Hospitals deliver care when it matters most, but documentation, coding, review, and reimbursement move across teams and systems that rarely share the same context, and too much of the value of that care gets lost along the way. Our technology carries every case from admission to reimbursement: it connects the context, takes on the routine work, brings in human expertise where judgment makes the difference, and closes each case at its full worth. A double‑digit number of hospitals already run calliora in production. Founded by AI researchers and backed by healthcare‑industry veterans and top‑tier investors, we're an ambitious, in‑person team in Munich, looking for people who want to do the hard, exact work that keeps hospitals running.
