Job summary

Hyperion Search Ltd represents a rapidly growing energy infrastructure client seeking a commercially minded Head of Finance / Finance Director to join the leadership team. This role will lead all finance function activities, drive strategic financial planning, fundraising, project financing, and investor engagement for a capital-intensive infrastructure business.

The role reports to the CEO and senior leadership, directing budgeting, forecasting, governance, and financial modelling.

Qualifications

• Experience in project/infrastructure finance and corporate finance.
• Strong financial modelling and commercial analysis skills.
• Proven ability to structure and execute financing transactions for capital-intensive projects.
• Experience working with lenders, investors and senior stakeholders.
• Knowledge of energy, infrastructure, renewables or related sectors is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead all aspects of the finance function and support strategic growth initiatives.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and governance.
• Manage project financing and capital raising activities for infrastructure assets.
• Coordinate corporate structuring (holding companies and SPVs) and reporting to investors.
• Communicate with lenders, investors and the board; support decision-making with financial modelling.

Backed by significant investment and ambitious growth plans, the business is developing and operating large-scale energy infrastructure assets across Europe.

As part of its next phase of growth, the company is seeking a commercially minded Head of Finance / Finance Director to join the leadership team and help shape the financial strategy of a high-growth infrastructure business.

The Role

Reporting directly to the CEO and senior leadership team, the successful candidate will lead all aspects of the finance function, supporting strategic growth initiatives, fundraising activities, project financing, financial planning, and investor engagement.

Key responsibilities include:

• Developing and executing the company's financial strategy, budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning.
• Leading project finance and capital raising activities for infrastructure assets.
• Supporting corporate structuring initiatives, including holding companies and special purpose vehicles.
• Establishing scalable financial processes, controls, reporting systems, and governance frameworks.
• Managing investor communications and board reporting.
• Supporting commercial decision-making through financial modelling and business case analysis.
• Working cross-functionally to optimise revenue streams and maximise asset performance.

Candidate Profile

Key requirements include:

• Proven experience within project finance, infrastructure finance, corporate finance, investment banking, or a related field.
• Demonstrated success structuring and executing financing transactions for capital-intensive projects.
• Strong financial modelling and commercial analysis skills.
• Experience working with lenders, investors, financial institutions, and senior stakeholders.
• Knowledge of the energy, infrastructure, renewables, clean technology, or industrial sectors is highly desirable.
• Understanding of German and/or European accounting and reporting requirements.
• Fluent German language skills are preferred.
• Experience within high-growth, venture-backed, or scaling businesses would be advantageous.
