Head of Project Finance - IPP Solar PV & BESS (utility scale)

We are partnering with a Munich-based, infrastructure fund-backed renewable energy developer in the appointment of a Head of Project Finance.

The platform has built a high-quality 1.2GW+ European pipeline, including over 450MW currently at Ready-to-Build and progressing toward construction between 2026 and 2028. With a diversified portfolio of utility-scale solar and battery storage projects across Germany and wider Europe, the business is entering a critical phase of capital deployment and financial execution.

This role will sit at the centre of that growth.

The Role:

As Head of Project Finance, you will take ownership of structuring and executing non-recourse debt across the portfolio, working closely with the CFO, investment team and external lenders.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading project finance structuring from RTB through Financial Close
• Negotiating term sheets and managing lender relationships (commercial banks, development banks, institutional debt providers)
• Optimising capital structures across SPVs and supporting holdco-level financing strategy
• Overseeing financial modelling, sensitivity analysis and debt sizing
• Supporting PPA structuring and merchant revenue considerations for BESS projects
• Building and mentoring a project finance function as the platform scales
• You will play a central role in shaping the platform’s capital strategy as it moves from development into construction and long-term ownership.

• 1.2GW+ pipeline across Germany and Southern Europe
• 450MW RTB with near-term Financial Close milestones
• Mix of solar PV and utility-scale BESS, including revenue stacking strategies
• Backed by a well-capitalised infrastructure fund with committed capital for deployment

Candidate Profile:

We are seeking an experienced project finance professional with:

• 10+ years’ experience in renewables or infrastructure project finance
• Demonstrated track record of closing non-recourse financings in Germany or Europe
• Strong understanding of German regulatory frameworks and PPA structuresExposure to battery storage or merchant revenue modelling is highly advantageous
• Advanced financial modelling and structuring capability
• Confidence managing lenders and advisors through complex transactions
• Fluency in German and English
• Candidates may currently sit within a renewable developer and IPP.
