Head of Communications Operations Konz (m/f/d)

As Head of Communication Operations Konz (m/f/d), you will play a key role in internal and external communication at our Konz site. You will act as a strategic communication advisor to Operations Management, further develop communication formats and channels, and ensure that our employees receive relevant information at the right time through the right channels.

In this role, you will combine strategic thinking with creative execution and work closely with leaders, People & Culture, Media Relations, and our global Communication Network.

Your Responsibilities

Shape communication and employee engagement

• Develop and coordinate internal communication for Site Operations in Konz, strengthening employee engagement and connection.


• Advise management and leadership teams on strategic, tactical, and operational communication topics, providing coaching, training, and facilitation where needed.


• Ensure that local communication activities are aligned with the overall Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE) strategy.


• Take the lead on change and crisis communication when required.

Develop and improve our communication channels

• Manage and continuously optimize existing communication channels and leadership communication formats.


• Further develop internal platforms and formats such as Violin, newsletters, digital information boards, Town Hall meetings, and company presentations.


• Identify new opportunities and implement innovative communication tools and methods, including AI-powered solutions.

Connect people and sites

• Act as a key interface with other Volvo CE sites across Europe and globally.


• Coordinate local and international communication initiatives and facilitate the exchange of best practices.

Strengthen our employer brand

• Support the organization of site visits, events, and other communication activities.


• In close collaboration with People & Culture, develop and drive employer branding initiatives that position Konz as an attractive employer.

Coordinate external communication

• Act as the local interface for external communication and, in close collaboration with Media Relations, coordinate the communication of relevant topics, activities, and achievements from the Konz site to external audiences.

What You Bring

• A university degree or equivalent qualification in Communications, Media, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field.


• Several years of professional experience in corporate, internal, or external communications.


• Proven experience in developing communication strategies while also driving their implementation.


• Strong strategic and conceptual thinking, combined with a hands‑on mindset.


• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.


• Fluent German and English skills, both written and spoken.


• Experience with digital communication platforms and modern communication tools, with a strong interest in new technologies and AI.


• Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple topics and priorities simultaneously.


• Confidence in working with a wide range of stakeholders – from the shop floor to senior management.


• Strong interpersonal skills, empathy, and the ability to build trusted relationships.


• The ability to remain calm and focused in dynamic situations, under tight deadlines, and during challenging or crisis situations.
