Momentum Biotechnologies EU leads the Mass Spectrometry & Proteomics group in Germany, guiding a team of ~5 researchers in scientific and professional growth. The role oversees multi-project programs, client interactions, and platform advancement in a fast-growing biotech setting.

We value a PhD in Life Sciences and extensive LC-MS experience, with a track record in proteomics, data analysis, and leadership.

Qualifikationen

• PhD in Life Sciences, Biochemistry, Biotechnology or related field.
• 5+ years of proteomics work in Pharma/Biotech/CRO.
• 3+ years hands-on LC-MS instrument maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Experience in quantitative proteomics approaches (SILAC, TMT) and PTM profiling.
• Strong project management and leadership experience.

Your role and responsibilities:

• Lead and mentor our Mass Spectrometry & Proteomics group of ~5 research associates and (senior) scientists with respect to personal growth as well as scientific and technological development
• Assume responsibility for matrix leadership and management of multiple proteomics projects, collaborating closely with our clients as well as our Chemical Biology & Biochemistry and Computational Biology group
• Drive the continuous development of our mass spectrometry platform by evaluating new technologies and approaches in the field, automating workflows and streamlining processes
• Establish strong scientific partnerships with our clients in long-term collaborations supporting their research endeavors by tailored solutions and ensuring highest scientific standards
• Interact closely with our Business Development in the preparation and review of scientific proposals for clients, ensure information flow on the latest platform developments and together drive the generation new business opportunities
• Guide resource allocation in a dynamic environment, meeting business requirements and timelines

You´re a good fit for us because:

• You have a PhD Degree in Life Sciences, Biochemistry, Biotechnology or a related field
• You have a strong track record in mass spectrometry-based proteomics (own publications) with at least 5 years of professional experience in Pharma, Biotech or CRO setting, ideally in the field of drug target biology and biomarker discovery
• You have in-depth knowledge of the latest (Thermo) LC-MS technology platforms with at least 3 years of hands‑on experience in maintenance and troubleshooting of LC-MS instruments
• You have extensive experience in quantitative proteomics approaches, data analysis and interpretation with a strong focus on global proteome and PTM profiling of label‑free, SILAC and TMT approaches as well as targeted proteomics
• You have profound experience in project management and the design and coordination of large scale proteomics projects
• You can lead diverse, multicultural teams, serve as a coach to develop and mentor team members and foster relationships and reciprocity through excellent people skills
• You bring a positive, solution-oriented mindset and proactive can‑do attitude, cultivating a collaborative and supportive work environment.
• You are enthusiastic to learn with a high level of drive and commitment. You have excellent organizational skills, and the ability to convey priorities in a fair, open and collaborative manner
• You have a clear and open communication and presentation style, with a high fluency in written and spoken English; German is advantageous
