Zusammenfassung

Exostaff GmbH, on behalf of EUMETSAT, is seeking a Ground Segment System Engineer in the Darmstadt/Frankfurt region, Germany. Deliver and oversee systems engineering, IV&V activities, requirements management, and interface coordination for earth observation ground segments. You will work with teams across disciplines to ensure successful integration and verification.

Fluent English is mandatory. A university degree in a technical field or equivalent experience, plus knowledge of SysML and DOORS,

Job title: Ground Segment System Engineer

Customer: EUMETSAT (European Organisation for the Exploitation of Meteorological Satellites)

Location of work: Darmstadt / Frankfurt Region, Germany

In addition to having a university degree in a relevant technical discipline or the equivalent work experience, the applicant shall have experience in at least the following attributes:

Mandatory Skills (Each Team Member)

• At least 4 years’ experience in Systems Engineering and IV&V related activities for at least one major element of a ground segment for earth observation missions.
• Knowledge of space and ground system engineering processes, and system and software life cycles and standards.
• Experience in change control procedures.

Skills and Experience (To have within the team)

• Experience in writing technical requirements.
• Definition, management and traceability of requirements structure with the support of dedicated tools (e.g. DOORS).
• Experience in interface management and definition, including familiarity with mechanisms and tools for detailed interface definition and capability to prepare and manage ICD.
• Experience with formal testing (FAT/OSAT), including preparation of test procedures, TRRs/TRBs.
• Experience in formal verification control processes (VCBs) and maintenance of VCDs.
• Use of modelling and design languages for System Engineering (e.g. SysML) and tools in support of architectural design activities (e.g. Enterprise Architect).
• Experience in operational environments under strict configuration management rules.
• Experience in maintenance of ground system and associated anomaly management process. Product(s)
• Experience with Data Processing systems for earth observation missions.
• Experience with Satellite Mission Control systems for earth observation missions.

Furthermore, it would be highly desirable for the team to have experience with or knowledge of some of the following:

• Experience with Ground Stations and/or EUMETSAT Multi-Mission Elements for archiving, monitoring, data dissemination.
• Knowledge of scripting in Linux environment.
• Experience with ground segment test data, including reconditioning, change control, and related test tools.
• Knowledge of IT/ground segment technologies: relational databases, virtualisation, networking, SW deployment tools, etc.

Fluency in English is mandatory; this is the working language at EUMETSAT, and the Contractors must be able to work effectively in this language both in written and spoken form.
