Zusammenfassung

Exostaff is seeking a Ground Segment System Engineer to support EUMETSAT in Darmstadt, Germany. You will contribute to system engineering and IV&V activities for ground segment elements of earth observation missions.

The role requires fluency in English, knowledge of space and ground system engineering processes, and experience with requirements management, interface definition, formal testing, and configuration control in strict CM environments.

Qualifikationen

• Fluency in English (spoken and written).
• 4+ years’ experience in Systems Engineering and IV&V for a ground segment of EO missions.
• Knowledge of space and ground system engineering processes and life-cycles.
• Experience in change control procedures.
• Experience in writing technical requirements and using DOORS for traceability.
• Interface management experience and ability to prepare ICDs.
• Experience with FAT/OSAT testing and test procedures.

Mandatory Skills and Experience (Per Service Team Member)

• Fluency in English (spoken and written)
• At least 4 years’ experience in Systems Engineering and IV&V related activities for at least one major element (e.g. PDP, MOC, Archive etc.) of a ground segment for earth observation missions
• Knowledge of space and ground system engineering processes, and system and software life-cycles and standards
• Experience in change control procedures

Mandatory Skills and Experience (Within Service Team)

• Experience in writing technical requirements
• Definition, management and traceability of requirements structure with the support of dedicated tools (e.g. DOORS)
• Experience in interface management and definition, including familiarity with mechanisms and tools for detailed interface definition and capability to prepare and manage ICD
• Experience with formal testing (FAT/OSAT), including preparation of test procedures, TRRs/TRBs
• Experience in formal verification control processes (VCBs) and maintenance of VCDs
• Use of modelling and design languages for System Engineering (e.g. SysML) and tools in support of architectural design activities (e.g. Enterprise Architect)
• Experience in operational environments under strict configuration management rules
• Experience in maintenance of ground system and associated anomaly management process
• Experience with Data Processing systems for earth observation missions
• Experience with Satellite Mission Control systems for earth observation missions
• Knowledge of IT/ground segment technologies: relational databases, virtualisation, networking, SW deployment tools, etc.

Advantageous Skills (Within Service Team)

Furthermore, it would be highly desirable for the team to have experience with or knowledge of some of the following:

• Experience with Ground Stations and/or EUMETSAT Multi-Mission Elements for archiving, monitoring, data dissemination
• Knowledge of scripting in Linux environment
• Experience with ground segment test data, including reconditioning, change control, and related test tools
